L’Etape Dubai by Tour de France, the major cycling event sponsored by Škoda and supported by Dubai Sports Council, has announced details of its Middle East debut this February in Dubai. Taking place on 1–2 February 2025, L’Étape Dubai starts at Dubai Design District (D3) and finishes at Expo Village Park, offering cyclists a Tour de France-inspired experience.
Day 1: 20km Family Ride, Kids’ Race, workshops and team intros
On Saturday, 1 February 2025, Expo Village Park becomes an interactive Tour de France Village, hosting a 20km Family Ride and Kids Race. Visitors can explore the Tour de France Museum, attend cycling workshops, cycling team and personality introductions, product showcases, race briefing, and a Food & Beverage zone. It will be open on Saturday from 8am to 8pm, and on Sunday from 7am to 2pm.
Day 2: Race day (and route)
The event flags off on Sunday, 2 February 2025, at 6:45 am, following a pre-race breakfast at D3. Riders can choose between ‘The Race’, a 101km route or ‘The Ride’, a 50km route, both featuring iconic landmarks of Dubai. Participants can test their sprint and endurance abilities in three Škoda-sponsored sections along the L’Étape Dubai route. Winners will receive the iconic Škoda Green Jersey, bringing the Tour de France spirit to Dubai’s cycling community.
Cyclists will start at D3, navigating approximately 50km along the Dubai-Al Ain Road (E66) and Zayed Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street (D54). Ride participants head directly to the finish at Expo Village Park, while The Race participants detour into the desert via Expo Road (E77) before looping back to the same finish. The event concludes with an awards ceremony.
