‘90s cinematography and hip-hop are some inspirations that designer Joe Freshgoods (JFG) has tried to capture in the New Balance Made In USA 990v4. The shoe is now on sale in the UAE. The standout highlights are classic black-and-white and white-and-black dual-tone schemes coupled with the textural variations of the New Balance’s 2016 silhouette.

The shoes feature suede overlays with mesh and patent leather underlays. JFG printed foxing, a ‘1998’ label on the heel, JFG branded inserts, cotton laces, ENCAP midsole, reflective inserts and a rubber outsole complete the package.

In the UAE, the New Balance X Joe Freshgoods Made In USA 990v4 is exclusively available at the New Balance showroom in The Dubai Mall. The price is AED 1,000.

Oakley Signs Eyewear Deal With Fortnite

California-based eyewear brand Oakley has inked a multi-year partnership with one of the most popular online video games – Fortnite. According to the deal, the former will release exclusive eyewear collections donning some of the aspects of the famous video game. The collaboration starts with two designs, both boasting the mark of Fortnite’s Battle Royale’s Victory Crown etched on the lens.

The first is the Oakley Helux Fortnite. It comes with the brand’s proprietary Prizm Gaming 2.0 Lens Technology, reducing glare from OLED and LED displays without compromising the sharpness. The second is called Oakley Hydra Fortnite. It’s better suited for outdoor adventures, packing a golden Prizm 24k lens.

The Oakley X Fortnite collection will be available exclusively on the eyewear brand’s official website starting November 29, 2023.

Massachusetts-based sportswear brand New Balance has introduced a new range of running shoes called Fresh Foam 1080v13. The brand claims the new footwear is versatile, adapting well to activities such as jogging, sprinting, or just running around town, completing day-to-day stuff. The key features include a new outsole design that provides improved forefoot stiffness, lighter Fresh Foam X cushioning for a comfier running experience, increased midsole stack height and a breathable mesh upper layer. Rounding off the shoe are reflective highlights, which will be helpful in low-light runs.

Popular South African dining chain Nando’s has collaborated with sports brand Puma to create a spicy-looking sneaker. Meet the Puma X Nando’s RS-Xtra Hot, available now at select Puma stores in the UAE and online at the brand’s official website.

The RS moniker, short for Running System, dates back to 1984. When Puma introduced it, the shoe became the world’s first wearable and smart sports product. Montegrappa, a century-old maker of luxury writing instruments, has released a limited-edition collection of luxury fountain pens to mark the 60th anniversary of Lamborghini called The Montegrappa Automobili Lamborghini 60° collection. This collection features sixty fountain pens finished in six Lamborghini factory colours, finished in an ultra-light hexagonal profile milled from aerospace aluminium and clad in forged carbon fibre. This limited edition Montegrappa pen even gets a red alloy flip switch located on the pen’s base, inspired by Lamborghini’s iconic starter button.
