The BRABUS BODO is a brand-new coach-built grand touring coupe launched by the company in tribute to its founder, Bodo Buschmann. This coupe features a lightweight carbon-fibre body, a front-engine layout, and limited production of only 77 cars. It was officially revealed at the FuoriConcorso event held in Italy.
What powers the BRABUS BODO?
The BRABUS BODO coupe is powered by a 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 engine that produces 986 bhp and develops 1,200 Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox with manual shift paddles and electronic locking differential.
According to the company, the coupe can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.0 seconds, 0 to 200 kmph in 8.5 seconds, and 0 to 300 kmph in 23.9 seconds. The top speed of this car is electronically limited to 360 kmph.
The car also comes with adjustable drive modes, including Wet, GT, Sport, Sport+, and the customisable Individual mode, which adjusts the suspension, throttle, steering, and transmission.
How does the BRABUS BODO look?
The chassis of the BODO is almost entirely built from carbon fibre using the pre-preg manufacturing technique. According to BRABUS, such construction helps reduce the car’s weight without compromising its rigidity. The vehicle’s total dry weight is 1,774 kg.
Aerodynamic features include an active rear spoiler, a front splitter, a rear diffuser, and carbon fibre cooling channels for the engines and brakes. The rear spoiler can also act as an air brake for high-speed braking.
The coupe has an overall length of 506 cm and a width of 202 cm. The maximum height of the car remains 130 cm.
Suspension and Braking Systems:
The BRABUS BODO features a double-wishbone suspension at the front and a multi-link suspension at the rear. The electronically adjustable dampers provide several suspension systems, depending on driving requirements.
This suspension system can lift both axles by about 25 mm to enhance ground clearance at low speeds.
Braking is handled by carbon-ceramic discs, with six-piston front and four-piston rear callipers. It comes with 21-inch forged BRABUS Monoblock Z-GT “Shadow Edition” wheels shod with custom-developed Continental SportContact 7 Force tyres.
What does the interior offer?
It has a 2+2 seating arrangement, with leather, carbon-fibre inlays, stainless-steel detailing, and contrasting stitching for the interior trim. The seats are designed to enhance lateral stability during fast driving while providing comfort on long trips.
Other features include a flat-bottom steering wheel, carbon-fibre pedals, exclusive luggage items, and a Digital Product Passport created in collaboration with the Aura Blockchain Consortium to validate authenticity and ownership.
How many units will be manufactured, and what will it cost?
A total of 77 units of the BRABUS BODO will be manufactured worldwide, taking into account BRABUS’s founding year. Each unit will be customised as per the individual client’s specifications.
The starting price of this car is set at €1,000,000 before taxes, which translates into around $1.08 million USD. The car’s deliveries are scheduled to begin soon.
