BRABUS BODO Cabriolet Features 1,000 BHP V12 and 360 kmph Top Speed

The BRABUS BODO Cabriolet is a limited-edition two-plus-two convertible featuring a 5.2-litre V12 biturbo engine that develops 1,000 BHP and 1,200 Nm of torque, with a top speed limit of 360 kmph.

What is the BRABUS BODO Cabriolet?

BRABUS has introduced the BODO Cabriolet as the open-topped version of the BODO Gran Turismo Coupe. The name is inspired by BRABUS founder Bodo Buschmann, and the model will be available in only 77 custom-ordered units worldwide.

The convertible features carbon fibre coach-built bodywork, active aerodynamics, and a fabric folding roof. There are two launch models offered: Piano Black and Silk Stone, each with distinct exterior and interior colours.

What engine powers the BODO Cabriolet?

The 5.2-litre V12 biturbo engine generates 1,000 BHP at 6,400 rpm and 1,200 Nm of torque from 2,900 rpm to 5,000 rpm. Power is delivered to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox equipped with a torque converter and carbon-fibre paddles.

Acceleration times are 0 to 100 kmph in 3.0 seconds, 0 to 200 kmph in 8.5 seconds, and 0 to 300 kmph in 23.9 seconds, with top speed electronically restricted to 360 kmph.

What chassis and aerodynamic systems does it use?

The BODO Cabriolet body is made of carbon fibre using the pre-preg method. The active rear spoiler varies with speed and can tilt to a vertical position above 140 kmph to help the brakes in situations requiring increased stopping power.

A double-wishbone front axle and a multi-link rear axle with five driving modes are used in its suspension. A lA lift system is installed that can lift the front and rear axles by about 25 mm and then return to normal height above 45 kmph.

22-inch BRABUS Monoblock Z GT Platinum Edition forged wheels with specially made Pirelli P Zero tyres of size 285/30 ZR 22 (front) and 335/25 ZR 22 (rear) are fitted in it.

What are the key interior aspects?

The BODO Cabriolet is designed to accommodate four seats and is equipped with the BRABUS Masterpiece interior finished in leather, carbon fibre, and BRABUS Shell quilting. While the Piano Black design option has Saddle Brown leather and a dark finish with exposed carbon fibre, the Silk Stone design option matches the colour scheme.

It has a retractable electric roof that takes less than 15 seconds to open or close. This car has carbon-fibre pedals, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, embroidered seats, and customised BRABUS accessories.

Advanced safety and driver assistance features include automated emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane change assist, blind spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, and traction control. Carbon ceramic brakes have a size of 410mm at the front and 360mm at the back wheels.

What about production information and pricing?

The BRABUS BODO Cabriolet will be limited to only 77 units globally, produced to the customer specifications. The price of this automobile will be slightly over 1,245,000 USD.
