Brabus 1000 All Gray is exactly what you thought it would be (hint: it isn’t green)

I’m not kidding, it’s so gray that for once even a dog can guess its color, but it won’t be chasing down this car

The Brabus 1000 All Gray is one of the grayest cars I’ve ever seen. If someone had mentioned to you that they were making their car all in one color, you’d think black could work but not any other colors. An entirely white car? No thanks, you’ll need sunglasses at night. All red? What is this horror scene?! What you wouldn’t think is that gray could look this good and sinister. Brabus has pulled it off again with one of the lightest shades of color on a car that is ferrying a hitman to take your life.

The big Brabus is based on the Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance—an already expensive car—which they’ve improved with 1,000 horsepower and 1,342 pound-feet of torque. Along with the usual Brabus bodywork and excessive luxury interior appointments, this car is gray: gray paint, gray wheels, gray leather, gray badges, gray grill, and even gray window trim! This is the most one-color car I’ve yet to see that wasn’t painted in someone’s backyard with roller and brush for a destruction derby.

They’ll tell you that this monochrome gray is meant to “exude absolute sophistication” but on that effort, I can’t confirm as my fashion sense is firmly rooted to about 2009. What I can tell you is that with figures such as a 0-60 mph run achieved in 3.1 seconds in what was once a Mercedes S class, it doesn’t matter what color this goliath is painted. You’ll have a tough time breathing as this car accelerates towards its top speed of 180 mph or realizing that there is a fair bit of carbon fiber trim and red lighting in the interior.

Nor will you notice how well each gray panel on the car seems to effortlessly match every other one. The wheels blend with the brake calipers. The dash and seats with their “Seashell Diamond” pattern look like they’ve been cut from the same cloth. The monochrome was the right decision as it tricks your mind into always seeing one shade of gray everywhere. And quite frankly let’s all admit this was the right color for this car. We all know that anyone able to afford the Brabus 1000 All Gray has been living in the ‘gray area’ amassing a fortune for years.

Cheers!
