BMW M3 Estate Gets The Manhart Touch

The finished product is called the MH3 650 Touring.

It was in June this year when BMW introduced the first-ever M3 Touring. Touted by most as “a winner” in all aspects, the model does have almost all the bases covered. But what if you want a punchier recipe, without compromising the practicality the car packs? That’s where Manhart Performance’s latest creation comes in. Everyone, meet the MH3 650 Touring. Besides a hefty increment in power, the tuner has given the station wagon a more thorough carbon fibre-infused look.

Now obviously, the starting point has to be the upgraded tuned powertrain. The 3.0-litre, twin-turbocharged six-cylinder powerplant, which offers 510hp/650Nm in the standard M3 Touring, has been upped to produce 650hp/800Nm. Simple math reveals that the MH3 650 Touring has 140hp/150Nm extra, enough to shatter the 0-100kmph sprint time of 3.6 seconds of the M3 Touring. The same should hold for the top speed, although, unfortunately, Manhart hasn’t mentioned by what margin for either case.

The MH3 650 Touring also packs a new exhaust system with valve control. Buyers can either opt for the Manhart downpipes without catalytic converters or the Manhart downpipes with 300 cells GESI catalytic converters. Besides those changes, the tuned estate flaunts the Manhart Concave One rims, finished in a silk matt shade. In case you’re not a fan of that finish, there are choices available.

Manhart has also festooned the MH3 650 Touring with new carbon bits. The list includes a new diffuser, a front spoiler, a rear spoiler, side skirts and aero flicks. And to round off the looks, Manhart’s signature golden decal set accompanies the black body paint, and so do the Manhart logos and lettering.

So, there you have it. A tasty recipe, you’d agree. A couple of weeks ago, Manhart also introduced a spruced-up take on the latest BMW M2. Another recent project worth pointing out was the Manhart TR 800, which started life as the 992-gen Porsche 911 Turbo S.
