BMW celebrates the two millionth 7 Series produced

The two millionth limousine is an electric i7

Launched in 1977 to counter the Mercedes S-Class, the BMW 7 Series is naturally the flagship of the Bavarian brand. The seventh generation of the limousine has just passed the two million mark. As a symbol of the changing times, the two millionth model is an i7, which is the electric variant of the 7 Series.

The model in question is an i7 xDrive60 in M Sport trim with the most traditional configuration. While the i7 has an original two-tone colour option, the exterior of this car is painted entirely in black. On board, a classic choice has also been made with Veganza quilted leather upholstery in cognac brown. The dashboard and the centre console feature light wood inserts.

A unique feature of the new 7 Series and i7 is the crystal strip on the front door panels and dashboard. It is backlit and enhances the lighting atmosphere at night. Also, the i7 retains the dual curved screen in a row that was introduced in the iX SUV. Thanks to its longer length than the previous 7 Series in extended version, the i7’s rear space is royal, with real seats to boot.

Technically, the i7 asserts its flagship status with two electric motors, each located on an axle. Together they gave the limousine all-wheel drive and produce a total of 544 PS. The 101.7 kWh battery provides a comfortable range of 625 km, while the maximum charging power is 195 kW. A sporty M70 xDrive version with around 660 PS is expected in 2023.
