Bentley’s run-of-the-mill cars aren’t exactly coach class. The standard Continental GT offers more luxury than most car buyers out there will ever experience. However, Bentley’s most elite clients aren’t exactly your average car buyer. That’s where the Bentley Batur comes into the picture — an exotic and opulent GT powered by Bentley’s most powerful engine yet, and limited to just 18 units! Kicking it up a notch further, Bentley has now unveiled ‘The Black Rose’ Batur.
Yes, it is as exotic as it sounds. Specially commissioned by a ‘high-value’ client, The Black Rose is one of the 18 Batur luxury GTs being built. Adding to the exclusivity is the fact that it is one of just three in right-hand-drive configuration.
A Vision In Black & Rose Gold
The Black Rose is sure to leave onlookers awestruck with its distinctive Black Rose metallic paintwork, developed exclusively for the client through Bentley’s Mulliner division. The deep, rich hue seamlessly blends with a gloss Beluga upper body, radiating a dark, mysterious allure.
Complementing this aesthetic are exquisite Satin Rose Gold accents adorning the front grille, the ‘endless bonnet line’, mirror caps, lower body kit, and the striking 22-inch tri-tone wheels. These elements elegantly contrast the imposing carbon ceramic rotors, featuring Black calipers for an added sense of drama.
Grand Interior
Stepping into The Black Rose is like entering a hallowed sanctuary of handcrafted luxury. The deep Beluga leather, charcoal grey tweed fabric, and Black Rose metallic-painted veneers form a dark yet inviting atmosphere. However, it is the industry-first application of 3D-printed 18-karat rose gold that truly sets this cabin apart.
Bentley has collaborated with renowned goldsmiths Cooksongold to introduce solid rose gold into key driver touchpoints. Up to 210 grams of hallmarked 18-karat gold embellish elements such as the Drive Mode Selector, Bentley’s signature Organ Stop vent controls, and an elegant steering wheel insert marker. The god-level craftsmanship showcases the infinite possibilities of personalization available through the Crewe-based marque’s Mulliner division.
Lavish Sustainability
Beyond its undeniable opulence, The Black Rose Batur also underscores Bentley’s commitment to sustainable luxury. The 18-karat rose gold used in the car is sourced entirely from 100% recycled jewelry, ensuring ethical production without compromising on quality. Each piece is hallmarked in Birmingham’s prestigious Jewellery Quarter, verifying its authenticity.
Bentley’s investment of £3 million (AED 14.26 million) into expanding its Additive Manufacturing capabilities at its Crewe facility has made such innovations possible. By converting three-dimensional CAD models into tangible components, the brand continues to push the boundaries of bespoke craftsmanship while maintaining its pledge to be end-to-end carbon neutral by 2035.
Mulliner: The Art of Personalization
The Black Rose exemplifies the unparalleled customization journey offered by Mulliner, Bentley’s revered bespoke division. This process allows customers to co-create their dream vehicles, choosing from an extensive palette of materials, finishes, and details. Beyond the incorporation of precious metals, Mulliner offers clients innovative materials such as aerospace-inspired titanium and eco-friendly, leather-like textiles derived from coffee roasting by-products.
Mulliner’s legacy of coachbuilding dates back to the 1850s, and the first Mulliner Bentleys can be traced back to the 1920s. Mulliner crafted bodies for some of the marque’s most legendary models, including the R-Type Continental of 1952. Today, the division continues this tradition, designing limited-run masterpieces unlike any other.
The Bentley Batur
The Batur represents a significant chapter in Bentley’s evolution. With only 18 units built, the Batur coupe set new benchmarks for exclusivity and performance. Following its success, Bentley introduced the Batur Convertible in May 2024 — a lavish drop-top grand tourer, limited to just 16 examples and boasting the most powerful W12 engine in the brand’s history.
In fact, the Batur is Bentley’s last hurrah for its revered 6.0-litre W12 engine. The twin-turbo unit produces 740hp at 5,500rpm and 1,000Nm from as low as 1,750rpm! We can’t really imagine Bentley Batur buyers doing top speed runs, but just in case you’re curious, it can touch 336km/h, which is insane for a car as luxurious as the Batur.
