Gunnar Kilian, a Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG and the Bentley Board of Directors, has officially opened Bentley Motors’ new state-of-the-art Excellence Centre for Quality and Launch in Crewe. The brand is preparing to launch Bentley’s first battery-electric vehicle.
The Excellence Centre for Quality and Launch covers 8,000 square metres and over two floors. It includes a production test floor and a small assembly line to test the assembly of all-electric vehicles in the future. It also includes a technical centre for future materials testing, high-precision dimensional measurement, vehicle analysis, and reliability. All of this is dedicated to ensuring the quality, performance, and expected longevity of each luxury vehicle.
Bentley’s industry-leading Beyond100+ strategy will see the company reinvent its entire product range to support an electric future. The company’s new, zero-impact digital manufacturing and quality facility will support new technologies and the development of Bentley’s first all-electric car, setting a new benchmark for future luxury cars.
The facility represents a significant step forward in transforming the historic 85-year-old site in Crewe into a world-leading centre for sustainable luxury car production.
