After launching Bold Editions of the Q3 and the Q3 Sportback earlier this month, Audi India is back with yet another one – the Q7 Bold Edition. Priced at INR 97.84 lakh, it demands a premium of INR 3.39 lakh over the Technology variant on which it is based. The entry-level Premium Plus variant is priced at INR 86.92 lakh, nearly INR 11 lakh less than the newcomer. The Q7 Bold Edition will be available for a limited time, which adds a flair of exclusivity.
The price difference mentioned above primarily boils down to the Black Styling Package with which the Q7 Bold Edition comes. It ropes in a high-gloss black grille along with black front and rear Audi logos, window surrounds, roof rails and ORVM caps. Also, the limited-run derivative will be available in four colours – Glacier White, Mythos Black, Navarra Blue and Samurai Grey.
Other features that the Audi Q7 Bold Edition packs include 19-inch alloy wheels, Matrix LED headlamps, seven drive modes, a panoramic sunroof, 30-colour ambient lighting, a 730-watt Bang & Olufsen sound system with 19 speakers, four-zone automatic climate control, eight airbags, Lane Departure Warning system and Park Assist Plus with 360-degree camera.
Like the other variants, the Audi Q7 Bold Edition is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-litre petrol engine with mild-hybrid tech. With 335hp/500Nm on tap, the 5-metre long three-row SUV can hit 100kmph from a standstill in 5.6 seconds and reach 250kmph flat out. Ensuring that the propulsion is smooth with little waste of available oomph is an 8-speed automatic transmission, which feeds the power to the wheels via the quattro all-wheel-drive system.
The Audi Q7 competes with the Land Rover Discovery, BMW X7, Volvo XC90 and the Mercedes-Benz GLS in India. What would be your pick if you were in the market for a luxury 7-seater SUV?
