Unlike previous updates to the Audi Q4 e-tron, the latest changes focus more on functional enhancements than styling upgrades.
Among the upgrades are modifications to the interior, infotainment interface, battery capacity, and charging capability of the model. Offered in SUV and Sportback variants, the Audi Q4 e-tron represents the first step into the electric Audi world.
What are the updates to the interior and infotainment system?
The interior now incorporates a digital panel set comprising a 12.8-inch main screen and 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster. In addition, there is the option for a secondary panel set, which comes in the form of a 12-inch passenger display.

Infotainment is provided via the Audi virtual cockpit, which has received an updated platform supporting a voice assistant. In particular, the system includes a voice-controlled assistant, as well as integration with ChatGPT to provide general knowledge from the web.
Other interior updates include revised storage compartments, ambient lighting, and wireless charging of two devices at up to 15 watts.
What improvements have been made to the range and the charging process?
With efficiency gains in the electric motor, the Sportback variant’s maximum range will increase to 592 kilometres (WLTP).

Charging capabilities have also been upgraded. In all-wheel-drive (quattro) variants, the maximum DC fast-charging capacity ranges from 175 kW to 185 kW. Charging from 10% to 80% of the battery takes about 27 minutes under ideal conditions. Within 10 minutes of charging, it should deliver up to 185 km of range on the roads.
There will also be options for battery pre-conditioning, automatic or manual.
What does the concept of bidirectional charging entail, and how does it work in this particular vehicle?
Bidirectional charging is one of the upgrades the new Q4 e-tron offers. It means that the high-voltage battery can discharge electricity.
This technology is known as the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L). In some countries like Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) is possible. In this case, the car’s power is sent directly to home appliances. This way, you can utilise your own renewable energy from solar panels.
What are the practical improvements related to usability?
The boot capacity is 515 litres, which can expand to 1,487 litres when the rear seats are folded. Now, there is a tailgate operated by electric motors.

As for the exterior design, some changes involve the new LED lights. There are LED daytime running lights that can be adjusted to preference. At the back of the car, there is digital OLED lighting.
