An evolution of the Casio G-Shock

In 2018, Casio debuted the G-Shock full metal lineup, becoming a fan favourite. This month, Casio is back with a new addition to the lineup.

The G-Shock full metal GMB2100 is the latest addition to the lineup with its popular octagonal form and complete metal construction.

The G-Shock GMB2100 features a steel case with a matching steel bracelet. The shape and style are derived from the GA2100 lineup introduced in 2019, an octagonal design evolution to the G-Shock DNA.

This latest G-Shock wears slightly slimmer than its predecessors, measuring 12.8mm in height, which is excellent in context to its 44.4mm case size.

The display is a fusion of analog and digital. It includes a multi-functional digital window spanning from 3 o’clock to 6 o’clock and a function-indicating sundial at the 9 o’clock position; these are in addition to the pair of analog hours and minute hands.

Powering the G-Shock GMB2100 is the Module 5691 Quartz which utilizes Tough Solar Technology that allows the watch to convert power even from the weakest light sources and provides a power-saving mode. Other features include Bluetooth capabilities with built-in smartphone Link functions via the G-Shock connected app allowing the watch to connect to a smartphone for automatic time updates, calendar reminders, timestamp with location, simple watch setting, and a unique phone finder function. All versions of the metal watch come with a 24-hour stopwatch, a 60-minute countdown timer, a hand shift feature, date/month display swapping, and a multilingual day of the week display. The GMB-2100 is shock resistant and water resistant up to 200M.

The new G-Shock full metal comes in three different versions. The GMB2100D-1A (Silver) retailing at $550, the Copper IP execution (GMB2100GD-5A) Dark Gray IP model (GMB2100BD-1A) both priced at $600 each.
