This marks the UAE debut of this revolutionary electric SUV. Designed for modern families seeking both excitement and practicality, the SEALION 7 attempts to redefine SUVs with its “Me vs. We” approach, combining the thrills of spontaneous electric power and speed with the practicality of a family SUV.
Exterior: Coupe SUV w/ LED lamps and up to 20″ wheels
The sporty Coupe SUV, positioned in the mid-size category, measures 4,830 mm in length, 1,925 mm in width, and 1,620 mm in height. It features sleek LED headlamps, sculpted bodywork, and a fastback roofline with two rear spoilers—one on the roof and another on the short rear deck. The look is completed with 19-inch Giti wheels on the Premium model and 20-inch Michelin wheels on the Performance model. The exterior paint palette offers four colours: Snow White, Deep Black, Rosemary Grey, and Atlantis Grey.
Interior: Quilted upholstery, 15.6″ central display & 500L boot
The chic, modern interior is available in two colour schemes: Black and Light Blue. It features a four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, quilted leather-upholstered seats (PU on the Premium), and a dual-screen setup—a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch rotatable central display. Additional highlights include a panoramic sunroof and a multi-colour ambient lighting system. Both models offer a total luggage volume of 500 litres, and a frunk.
In terms of technology, it boasts a 12-speaker Dynaudio system, a wireless charger, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a dual-zone A/C system. Enhancing safety and situational awareness, the ADAS system integrates five radars, five cameras, and nine airbags—designed to be not just reactive but predictive.
Powertrain & Charging: 230 kW RWD or 390 kW AWD; 11 kW AC or 150 kW DC
The SEALION 7’s e-Platform 3.0 features a high-efficiency electric drive and the world’s fastest mass-produced motor (23,000 rpm) for instant power and smooth acceleration. The CTB battery integration enhances structural integrity for improved crash protection. BYD’s Blade Battery Technology boosts safety and durability, minimising thermal runaway risk, making the SEALION 7 one of the safest electric SUVs.
The Premium model is powered by a 230 kW motor driving the rear wheels, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in 6.7 seconds. The Performance variant features an AWD layout with dual motors—160 kW at the front and 230 kW at the rear—delivering a 0–100 km/h time of just 4.5 seconds. While both variants are limited to a 215 km/h top speed, the Performance model offers a slightly longer range at 482 km compared to the Premium’s 462 km. Both use an 82.5 kWh LFP battery, which supports AC charging up to 11 kW and DC fast charging up to 150 kW.
