In December last year, India’s pocket-friendly airline, Akasa Air, dropped a surprise development in the aviation sector. It announced a codeshare agreement with the UAE’s national carrier, Etihad Airways. Thanks to the partnership, the Mumbai-headquartered carrier is now offering and operating daily direct flights to Abu Dhabi from two more cities: Ahmedabad and Bengaluru. This development was first announced in November last year, but the Etihad angle was absent.
The codeshare flights to Abu Dhabi marks Akasa Air’s first international connection from Karnataka’s capital. And with Akasa Air’s daily Mumbai-Abu Dhabi link established, the Indian carrier now offers 21 weekly flights to UAE’s capital. The inaugural flights to Abu Dhabi from Ahmedabad and Bengaluru were on March 1, 2025. Here’s the schedule:
