It has only been a couple of weeks since Air India Express (AIX) launched direct flights to Bangkok. The airline offers nonstop connections to the Thai capital from Amritsar, Surat, Lucknow and Pune. The low-cost carrier has now confirmed that it soon begin direct flights to another city in Thailand – Phuket. Starting January 31, 2025, it will start operating three weekly services to the said city from Hyderabad on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. From February 15, 2025, the per week frequency will increase to six, with a daily connection between the two cities except on Tuesdays. Inaugural ticket prices on this route start at INR 10,500. The connection from Hyderabad means AIX passengers can find one-stop flights to Phuket from 16 cities, including Bhubaneswar, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Goa, Guwahati, Jaipur, Jeddah, Kolkata, Lucknow, Patna, Pune, Riyadh, Varanasi, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam.
The new domestic destination that will join AIX’s network next month is Dibrugarh. Starting February 1, 2025, the carrier will connect the town of Assam with Guwahati directly and Delhi with one stop. AIX flight will depart from India’s capital at 09:00 and land in Guwahati at 11:40. It’ll then resume its journey at 12:15 and arrive in Dibrugarh at 13:05. After a forty-minute halt, the same aircraft will take off for Guwahati at 13:45 and land at 15:15. The Guwahati-Delhi sector begins and concludes at 15:50 and 19:00, respectively. This Delhi-Guwahati-Dibrugarh route to and fro will be a daily affair.
Dibrugarh’s direct connection with Guwahati means those travelling with AIX can find one-stop flights to nine other domestic destinations, including Agartala, Bengaluru, Chennai, Dimapur, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jaipur, and Kolkata.
