Mercedes-AMG has introduced the GT SUV, an all-electric performance SUV built on the AMG.EA platform. It combines a large SUV body with electric powertrains, active suspension, advanced aerodynamics, and a digital cockpit. The vehicle will be available in three versions, each offering different powertrain configurations and equipment.

What power and performance does the GT SUV offer?
The GT 53 features two synchronous electric motors, one at each axle, producing a combined output of 536 BHP. The GT 55 features three axial-flux motors that produce 805 BHP, while the range-topping GT 63 delivers up to 1,153 BHP.
The GT 53 comes with a two-speed transmission on the rear axle, while the front motor can disconnect when additional traction is not required. The GT 55 and GT 63 feature three motors, with two at the rear and one at the front, allowing variable torque distribution between the rear wheels.
The performance-focused GT 63 accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 2.5 seconds and from 0 to 200 kmph in just 6.8 seconds. Its top speed reaches 270 kmph when equipped with the Driver’s Package.

What are the battery capacities, driving ranges, and charging specifications?
The GT SUV will use an 800-volt electrical architecture and will be available with battery capacities of 106 kWh or 128 kWh. The larger battery is claimed to provide a WLTP driving range of up to 700 kilometres.
The 106 kWh battery supports DC charging at up to 600 kW, adding up to 380 kilometres of WLTP range in 10 minutes. The 128 kWh battery supports charging at up to 710 kW, adding up to 450 kilometres of range in the same period. Under certain conditions, the latter battery can charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 12 minutes.
The battery uses directly cooled cylindrical cells to maintain thermal stability during high-performance driving and rapid charging. The vehicle is also designed to support charging at 400-volt stations and offers compatibility with regional charging infrastructure.

How does the suspension improve handling?
The GT SUV features AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive and active rear-wheel steering. The AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL+ system comes as standard on the GT 63 and is available as an option on the GT 55.
The suspension system combines adjustable air springs with hydraulically interconnected dampers to control body roll and pitch. The rear-wheel steering system turns the rear wheels in the opposite direction to the front wheels at speeds of up to 80 km/h to improve manoeuvrability. At speeds above 80 km/h, the rear wheels turn in the same direction as the front wheels to enhance stability.
The GT 53 and GT 55 come with steel brakes as standard, while the GT 63 features carbon-ceramic brakes. Carbon-ceramic brakes are also available as an option on the GT 55.

What exterior and interior features are available?
The exterior features a sloping roofline, wide tracks, large wheel arches, and active aerodynamic elements. The GT 55 and GT 63 feature an adjustable rear wing that changes position according to the selected driving mode. Active front air outlets help manage airflow and reduce aerodynamic drag.
Inside, the SUV features a 14-inch multimedia display and a 10.2-inch instrument cluster. An additional 14-inch passenger display is available as an option. The MBUX infotainment system runs on the Mercedes-Benz Operating System and integrates AI technologies from ChatGPT, Microsoft Bing, and Google Gemini.
Other features include a three-seat rear bench, a configurable panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting, and an optional Burmester sound system. The MANUFAKTUR personalisation programme offers more than 60 exterior colours, along with additional customisation options.

Which driving modes and digital features are offered?
The GT SUV offers seven driving modes: Comfort, Sport, AMGFORCE Sport+, RACE, Slippery, Individual, and Eco. The AMG RACE ENGINEER system, available on the GT 55 and GT 63, allows drivers to adjust motor response, cornering dynamics, and traction control.
The AMGFORCE Sport+ mode simulates the sound of a V8 or six-cylinder engine and provides virtual gear changes and seat vibrations. The AMG TRACK PACE system records telemetry data, lap times, and other circuit-driving statistics. Meanwhile, the AMG PERFORMANCE MENU displays information about power delivery, energy flow, and vehicle temperatures.

When will the Mercedes-AMG GT SUV launch, and how much will it cost?
The GT 53 is expected to become available to order in Germany on October 20, 2026, with a starting price of €113,050, equivalent to approximately US$131,000 at an indicative exchange rate.
The GT 55 and GT 63 are expected to go on sale in spring 2027. Prices for these variants, along with market-specific specifications and availability dates, have yet to be confirmed.
