A bespoke Mercedes-Maybach S 680, customised through the Mercedes-Benz MANUFAKTUR Made to Measure programme, will be auctioned in New York in November 2026. The vehicle closely resembles the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class built for LeBron James, who still owns the original car.
The second vehicle has been prepared for auction, and the proceeds will be used to support the LeBron James Family Foundation (LJFF).

What Makes This Mercedes-Maybach S 680 Unique?
The car features exclusive MANUFAKTUR light ivory non-metallic paint and a Stormy Weather Nappa leather interior with porcelain-coloured contrasting stitching.
James’s signature appears on the personalised floor mats, cushions, and headrests, while the classic V12 badge has been replaced with one featuring his personal logo. A special badge displaying the geographical coordinates of Akron, Ohio—James’s hometown—has also been installed.
These are some of the distinctive features that set this Mercedes-Maybach S 680 apart from the standard model.

What Can You Get with MANUFAKTUR Made to Measure?
Through the MANUFAKTUR programme, Mercedes-Benz offers customers the opportunity to personalise their luxury vehicles with a range of options, including unique paint finishes, interior materials, and handcrafted elements.
The MANUFAKTUR Made to Measure programme allows clients to collaborate with specialists to develop unique features based on their personal preferences. Options such as bespoke upholstery, embroidery, and stitching can be included, provided they are technically feasible.
The James-inspired S 680 exemplifies how these possibilities can be used to incorporate personal references into a luxury vehicle.

Where Will the Vehicle Be Displayed?
The Mercedes-Maybach S 680 is scheduled to be displayed at Mercedes-Benz Manhattan from 9 to 16 November 2026, before appearing at the Javits Center in New York from 19 to 20 November.
Additional displays may be announced through Mercedes-Benz’s official channels.

When Will the Auction Take Place?
Retromobile New York will take place from 19 to 22 November 2026 at the Javits Center. Gooding Christie’s is the official auction house for the event.
The car will be offered for sale as a bespoke collector’s vehicle. However, no auction estimate, reserve price, or expected sale price has been announced yet.

How Will the Auction Help the Community?
The proceeds from the auction are expected to benefit the LeBron James Family Foundation’s I PROMISE programme, which supports students and their families in Akron, Ohio.
The programme provides educational services, mentoring, and assistance in areas such as housing, healthcare, job training, and financial literacy.
