HONOR Magic V6: A Foldable Built for Modern Professionals

The HONOR Magic V6 is a foldable smartphone engineered to streamline the modern workday through an expansive 7.95-inch inner display, seamless cross-device connectivity with Apple ecosystems, and integrated AI productivity tools. Built for professionals on the move, it combines a massive 6,660mAh battery and a highly durable, slim design to reduce the friction of daily tasks and multitasking.

HONOR has introduced the Magic V6, a foldable smartphone designed to tackle the everyday frustrations of modern work. Instead of simply focusing on raw power, the new device prioritises multitasking, cross-device connectivity, AI assistance, and durability to streamline the working day.

What is new with the design and display?

The Magic V6 features a 7.95-inch inner display alongside a 6.52-inch outer display, with both screens supporting up to a 120Hz refresh rate.

HONOR claims the inner display can reach up to 5,000 nits peak brightness, while the outer display reaches up to 6,000 nits. The company says this high brightness is particularly useful for users working outdoors in bright Middle Eastern sunlight.

Despite the expanded screen real estate, the phone maintains a slim profile. When unfolded, the Magic V6 measures just 4.0mm at its thinnest point. When folded, it is 8.75mm thick and weighs 219g, designed to offer a tablet-like experience without adding another heavy device to a bag.

What performance and multitasking features are included?

The Magic V6 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. The large inner display is optimised to give users more room to work across multiple windows simultaneously, such as keeping an email open alongside a spreadsheet.

The device also introduces Fast-Flex. By partially folding the phone, users can quickly transition into a split-screen setup, which includes the option to launch an AI tool or a customised app. HONOR says this feature helps users avoid constantly jumping back and forth between different applications.

How does the HONOR Magic V6 use AI?

The Magic V6 brings several AI tools into the daily workflow. The AI Meeting Agent is designed to support meeting-related tasks, such as finding information beforehand and keeping track of discussions, while AI Suggestions can recommend relevant apps based on user activity.

Google Gemini is also integrated into the system. It features Cross-App Action, which allows users to interact with supported applications using natural language. According to HONOR, these AI integrations are focused on removing unnecessary steps from everyday tasks.

Does HONOR Magic V6 work with other ecosystems?

HONOR has designed the Magic V6 to operate seamlessly across different device ecosystems, including Apple’s.

With features such as Mac Screen Extension, users can utilize the Magic V6’s large display as an additional screen for their Mac. The Mac Connected Files feature also provides access to Mac windows directly on the phone’s larger display.

Additionally, the device features iCloud Connect, enabling users to access, download, and upload iCloud files through the standard HONOR file manager. For daily use, Notification Sharing keeps alerts connected across devices, while AirPods Connect streamlines the pairing process for compatible AirPods.

What is the battery life like?

The Magic V6 is equipped with a large 6,660mAh silicon-carbon battery that features a 25% silicon content. According to HONOR, the device has successfully passed TÜV Rheinland’s 24-hour battery test while utilizing the large inner screen.

When the device does need to be recharged, it supports 80W wired charging and 66W wireless charging.

What cameras does the HONOR Magic V6 offer?

The smartphone includes a 64MP periscope telephoto camera equipped with CIPA 6.5 stabilisation.

It also utilizes HONOR’s AiMAGE Color Engine, which the company claims is designed to reproduce colours more naturally. This setup aims to assist professionals who rely on their phones to document materials, capture product samples, or record high-quality content for social media.

How durable is the HONOR Magic V6?

HONOR states the Magic V6 carries IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance ratings. It utilizes a Super Steel Hinge featuring a 2800 MPa steel structure, which the company says has been tested to withstand 500,000 folds.

The device is protected by NanoCrystal Shield glass. According to HONOR, this material offers 10x drop resistance, 15x scratch resistance, and 3x wear resistance compared to ordinary smartphone glass.

For users dealing with long periods of screen time, the Magic V6 also incorporates nine AI Eye Comfort modes, 4320Hz PWM dimming, and a low-reflectivity coating designed to make the display more comfortable across various lighting conditions.
