The new smartphones combine OPPO’s 3D Pop Planet Design with several AI-powered photography, editing and productivity features. The lineup also introduces Pop Cam, AI Remix Collage and AI Mind Space. The OPPO Reno16 starts at AED 1,799.
What is new with the design?
The Reno16 Series introduces a new design language that OPPO calls the 3D Pop Planet Design.
The Pop White models feature what OPPO describes as an industry-first HoloVerse 3D Technology. According to the company, millions of micro-lenses reconstruct light in space to create a nebula-inspired design that appears to float above the phone’s surface and changes as the device moves under light.
Across the range, OPPO has used a one-piece cold-sculpted back cover that flows into the camera module. OPPO claims this creates a smoother, more seamless appearance while helping to reduce dust accumulation around the camera area.
The Reno16 and Reno16 Pro feature compact 6.32-inch displays and aerospace-grade aluminium frames. OPPO says the smaller screens are designed to make both devices comfortable to use with one hand. The Reno16 F receives a larger 6.57-inch display for users who prefer more screen space.

What cameras does the Reno16 series offer?
All three smartphones feature a 50MP ultra-wide selfie camera with a 100-degree field of view. OPPO claims the wider perspective makes it easier to include more people in group selfies and offers greater flexibility when composing shots.
According to OPPO, all Reno16 models get a triple rear-camera system which includes a 200mp Ultra Clear main camera, a telephoto portrait camera with 3.5x optical zoom and a 50mp ultrawide camera.

What is Pop Cam?
Pop Cam is a new creative shooting mode built directly into the Camera app.
The Pop Cam feature allows users to apply several vintage-inspired effects with a single tap, including Digicam, Instant Film and Light Leak styles. OPPO says Pop Cam is designed to help users create photographs with different moods and visual styles without requiring separate editing applications.

What AI editing features are included?
The Reno16 Series introduces a new Create hub within the Photos app, bringing its AI-powered editing features together in one place.
AI Remix Collage allows users to combine photographs and short videos into layered compositions containing animated stickers, outlines and text. The feature can also extract moving subjects from Motion Photos or videos and convert them into stickers.
Popout Collage 2.0 allows subjects to extend beyond the boundaries of a collage frame in multiple directions. OPPO claims this creates a more dynamic three-dimensional visual effect.

what video features does the Reno16 series offer?
The Reno16 Series supports 4K Auto Straighten Video, which OPPO says can automatically keep footage level while the user is walking or moving.
Dual View Video 2.0 also introduces improved stabilisation and allows users to switch between the rear cameras during recording. According to OPPO, this should provide a smoother and more flexible recording experience.
How does AI Mind Space work?
The Reno16 Series runs on the ColorOS 16 operating system and introduces an AI Snap Key for quickly accessing AI Mind Space.
The AI Snap Key allows users to capture and organise information displayed on the screen. OPPO describes AI Mind Space as a personalized information hub where users can store important details.
ColorOS 16 also introduces AI Bill Manager. OPPO claims this feature can recognise digital payments and physical receipts before organising them into spending records and insights.
What is AI Mind Pilot?
AI Mind Pilot is designed to coordinate multiple AI models and provide more context-aware assistance.
According to OPPO, the feature can securely access relevant information saved within AI Mind Space and recommend a suitable AI model for a particular task. Users can also compare responses from multiple models side by side.
Though, OPPO has not specified which third-party AI models will be available.

How does Menu Translation work?
AI Menu Translation is designed to assist users when reading menus in foreign languages.
Rather than providing only a text translation, OPPO says the feature can generate visual explanations of unfamiliar dishes. The company claims this can help travellers better understand the food listed on menus in foreign countries.
What performance does the Reno15 series offer?
The Reno16 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 Super Platform. It also features AI HyperBoost 3.0, an upgraded cooling system and support for refresh rates of up to 144Hz in compatible games.
OPPO claims these technologies provide smoother and more responsive gaming performance. However, the 144Hz mode will depend on whether an individual game supports the feature.
The standard Reno16 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip. OPPO positions the device as offering dependable performance for content creation, gaming, streaming and everyday use.
And lastly, the Reno16 F gets a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 which is an efficient mid-range 5G mobile processor.

what is the battery life like on the Reno16 series?
The OPPO Reno16 Pro and the standard Reno16 gets a 6,700mAh battery while the Reno16 F gets the largest battery in the lineup with a capacity of 7,000mAh. OPPO states these batteries can provide all-day usage
All three models also support 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging.
What is AI LinkBoost 4.0?
The Reno16 Series features AI LinkBoost 4.0, which OPPO claims can improve network stability in crowded locations and areas with weaker signals.
According to OPPO, AL LinkBoost 4.0 technology is designed to reduce lag and maintain smoother connections during gaming, streaming and video calls.
How Durable is the Reno16 series?
OPPO says every Reno16 model carries IP68, IP69 and IP69K water- and dust-resistance ratings.
IP68 covers protection against dust and immersion under specified test conditions, while IP69 and IP69K relate to resistance against powerful, high-temperature water jets. These ratings do not make the phones completely waterproof, and protection may decrease over time through regular wear.
What is OPPO Bubble?
OPPO has also introduced the Bubble, a 35-gram magnetic companion device designed to work with compatible smartphone cases or magnetic rings.
It features an AMOLED display that functions as a live monitor for the phone’s rear camera, allowing users to preview their framing while taking selfies or group photographs.
The Bubble can also operate as a remote viewfinder and shutter control from up to 10 metres away. OPPO claims this gives users greater freedom when composing photographs without holding the phone.
The Bubble can be attached to compatible holders or lanyards and used as a personal accessory. A dedicated application allows users to customise its display with photographs, looping animations, text and colours.
