What is new about the BMW X3 M50 xDrive?
BMW has updated the X3 M50 xDrive with modifications to exterior styling, interior equipment, and the engine. The major highlights are the optional Black Package and a higher engine output from the 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six petrol engine.
Engine output increases by 45 BHP to 443 BHP. The revised X3 M50 xDrive can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.4 seconds. Using BMW’s rollout measurement method, it takes 4.1 seconds.
What is included in the Black Package?
The Black Package is only applicable to the X3 M50 xDrive. The modifications include exterior and interior design features, including 22-inch Polygon 1134 M Black light-alloy wheels.

This package also features black high-gloss brake callipers featuring monochrome M logos. It also includes black high-gloss M logos and silver-trimmed model badges.
In the interior, this package features BMW Individual Alcantara on certain surfaces, including areas of the dashboard, around the central display, the smartphone charging tray, the door panels, and the centre console armrest.
The seats are upholstered with black Alcantara and Veganza and have blue stitching and piping. The headrests are embossed with M logos, while the floor mats are piped in blue and have an M-coloured flag.

Other interior elements include M aluminium-carbon structure trim, selected BMW Individual CraftedClarity glass parts and a leather airbag impact absorber of the M steering wheel.
How powerful is the new engine?
X3 M50 xDrive still features a 3.0-litre M TwinPower Turbo inline-six petrol engine coupled with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system.
The tuned engine delivers 443 BHP, up 45 BHP from before. According to BMW, the engine meets the Euro 7 emission standards.

The new X3 M50 xDrive reaches 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds. When measured using BMW’s rollout calculation, which excludes rollout time (timing starts after the vehicle crosses the first foot), the result is 4.1 seconds.
This improvement applies to the X3 M50 xDrive regardless of whether the Black Package option is chosen.
What else is happening in the BMW X3 line-up?
Also, BMW will introduce changes to the X3 line-up’s interior design and equipment starting in December 2026.
