What is the Nike Book 2 Chevrolet collection?
The Nike Book 2 Chevrolet collection is a four-sneaker project built around cars Devin Booker actually owns. The Phoenix Suns guard keeps his classic American metal in a garage he calls The Library. Four of his Chevrolet Impalas now have a shoe each, and every pair matches the paint colour of its car. The model year sits on the sneaker too, so the run covers 1958, 1959, 1962 and 1963.
The detailing goes further. Each tongue top mirrors the hood ornament of its car, which keeps two Impalas in similar shades visibly apart. Booker calls himself a lifelong Chevrolet fan, and says the mix of his Michigan roots and his passion for the brand makes the project personal.
What does the “Pretty Penny” sneaker look like?
“Pretty Penny” takes its colour scheme from Booker’s 1959 Chevrolet Impala convertible. He credits that car with starting his obsession with classic automobiles. The ’59 model year appears on the shoe, and the tongue top follows the same pattern as the hood ornament.
Nike has not listed a price for this pair. Standard Book 2 colourways sell for $145 in the United States, and the premium Book 2 PRM versions sell for $155. Nike has published no AED price.
What technology sits inside the Nike Book 2?
The Nike Book 2 is Booker’s second signature shoe, and it arrived in January 2026 as a deliberately low-profile design. A forefoot Air Zoom unit sits underneath, along with a Cushlon 3.0 midsole and a soft foam sock liner. Nike stripped material out to lower the shoe, then moved the Air Zoom unit from the heel to the forefoot. The change also cut weight.
The outsole follows the Air Force 1 and carries a herringbone traction pattern. Nike lists the shoe at around 450 g in a men’s US 9, with a heel-to-toe drop of roughly 6 mm.
What else comes with the collection?
A “Heartbeat of America” T-shirt joins the sneakers, named after the Chevrolet anthem of the Eighties and Nineties. Chevrolet revived that campaign in June 2026 for the 250th anniversary of the United States. Country rock band The Red Clay Strays recorded the new version.
Each pair also ships in a custom box based on Chevrolet’s mid-century Accessories packaging. The design reworks its kraft paper, bold teal-and-orange graphics and oversized lettering.

When does the Nike Book 2 “Pretty Penny” release?
“Pretty Penny” arrives early in Detroit on Saturday, 15 August, during the Woodward Dream Cruise. That one-day event draws around 40,000 vintage cars along a 16-mile (26 km) stretch of Woodward Avenue, and Booker’s own car joins them. Fans in Detroit can enter on SNKRS Pass on 14 August, then collect at Burn Rubber in Royal Oak, Michigan.
Everyone else waits for the global release on 26 August, and the remaining three shoes follow in December 2026. Nike runs a SNKRS launch calendar for the UAE, so buyers in the region should watch that page from 26 August. Nike has not confirmed how much stock reaches the UAE.

How does this follow the Book 1 Chevrolet collection?
Last year’s Book 1 collection with Chevrolet sold out. It drew on Booker’s three vintage Chevy K5 Blazers, and the desert-toned palette came from their earthy colours. That drop landed in April 2025 with the Book 1 x Chevrolet “Dark Gold Leaf”. Two Nike Blazer Low colourways and a set of graphic T-shirts came with it.
Booker owns around a dozen vintage GM vehicles in all, including several Impalas and a number of rare Buick GNX models. The Nike Book 2 collection simply moves the story from his trucks to his cars.
