Kia Middle East & Africa has unveiled the new Kia PV5 passenger van for the region at the Museum of the Future in Dubai. The launch of the Kia PV5 marks the Middle East and Africa debut as the brand’s first Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) model. This modular architecture offers the Kia PV5 to be had in multiple configurations depending on the operational needs of the customer.
The Kia PV5 is designed as a fully electric mobility solution. As the first model within Kia’s PBV lineup, the PV5 can be used to adapt to the evolving needs of individuals, businesses, and communities. The regional display at the Museum of the Future in Dubai saw Kia showcase more than five applications ranging between urban mobility and commercial use to leisure and lifestyle needs.
What is a Kia PV5?
The Kia PV5 is Kia’s fully electric mobility solution with flexible applications, courtesy of the new platform. It can adapt multiple configurations to suit various mobility and commercial requirements. The PV5 also comes integrated with AAOS (Android Automotive OS) to deliver native Google services and OTA updates along with PV5 IVI (In-Vehicle Infotainment) adding what seems to be the standard suite of modern connectivity.
Being an all-electric vehicle, the PV5 further supports both AC and DC charging solutions. The DC fast charging capability enables charging from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes. Depending on the specification and battery pack chosen, the PV5 can boast a claimed range of 524 kms.

What are the different configurations for the Kia PV5?
Kia PV5 Passenger
The Kia PV5 Passenger iteration combines a spacious cabin with easy access through sliding doors and generous luggage capacity. When paired with a quiet electric drivetrain, it presents itself as a feasible option for personal transportation, ride-hailing, car-sharing, hotel shuttles and even corporate mobility.
Kia PV5 Prime Edition
As the name suggests, the Kia PV5 Prime Edition is developed for the more premium mobility applications in the region. The Prime Edition comes with enhanced interior comfort, privacy and passenger experience, suited best to serve hotels, resorts, executive transport providers and premium customer shuttle services.
Kia PV5 Cargo
The Kia PV5 Cargo benefits from a healthy cargo volume of up to 4.42 cubic metres, low loading height and practical loading access for easy urban logistical requirements. Further flexibility of multiple battery configurations comprises a long-range 71.2 kWh battery with a claimed range of 524 kms. These make it suitable to cater to the growing demands of transportation, logistics and fleet operation across the region.

Kia PV5 Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV)
The Kia PV5 Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle is designed to support both general passengers and people of determination. It boasts a factory-fitted dedicated wheelchair access features and an optimised passenger area.
Kia PV5 Drop Side
The Kia PV5 Drop Side showcases the commercial flexibility of Kia’s new PBV architecture. This variation transforms the regular passenger van into a chassis-cab platform to be further utilised as box Van, Freezer Box and other utility solutions. This makes the PV5 relevant not only for cargo van operations, but also for public sector fleets
Commenting on the launch, Ahmed Soudodi, Vice President for Kia Middle East & Africa, said: “The Kia PV5 represents a major step forward in our vision for the future of mobility. As our first Platform Beyond Vehicle model, it reflects Kia’s commitment to delivering innovative mobility solutions that adapt to the changing needs of customers and businesses. By combining flexibility, advanced technology and electric mobility within a purpose-built platform, the PV5 opens new possibilities for how people move, work and connect. We are proud to introduce this groundbreaking vehicle to the Middle East and Africa as we continue expanding Kia’s future mobility ecosystem across the region.”
