EssilorLuxottica and Meta are expanding their AI glasses portfolio in the UAE with a new line of optical-first styles built for prescription wearers. The launch adds to a multiyear partnership that has already produced the Ray-Ban Meta collection, the Oakley Meta HSTN and Oakley Meta Vanguard, and the Meta Ray-Ban Display, the first AI glasses to feature an in-lens display.
What are the new Ray-Ban Meta optical styles?
The two new additions are the Ray-Ban Meta Blayzer Optics (Gen 2) and the Ray-Ban Meta Scriber Optics (Gen 2). Both frames carry a slimmer profile and ergonomic upgrades for extended wear.
The design changes include interchangeable nose pads, overextension hinges with an additional 10 degrees of rotation, and adjustable temple tips that wearers can shape to fit their heads. A new dedicated action button lets users activate Meta AI with a single press, giving quick access to personalised shortcuts and hands-free content capture.
In addition, both frames support single-vision, progressive, and Transitions lenses. The Transitions option eliminates the need to switch frames between indoor and outdoor settings, as the lenses shift from a light tint to a darker sun lens in response to changing light conditions.

What is new for Oakley Meta?
Alongside the new optical styles, EssilorLuxottica and Meta are introducing new colourways across all Oakley Meta products. Notably, the Oakley Meta Vanguard receives Transitions lenses for the first time. Paired with Oakley’s Prizm lens technology, which enhances colour and contrast, the Prizm Transitions lens improves visual performance across varied lighting conditions, from indoor training spaces to outdoor tracks and fields.

What new AI features are coming to Ray-Ban Meta?
Meta is also expanding the AI capabilities on Ray-Ban Meta glasses. Live Translation now covers Japanese, Mandarin and Arabic, adding to the languages already supported. Further, new features include hands-free food logging, nutrition tracking through voice prompts or photos, and message summarisation that recaps missed conversations, all without picking up a phone.
More broadly, wearers can already use Meta AI based on what they see, record photos and videos, listen to music via Spotify or Amazon Music, make calls, send messages and translate conversations in real time. A 12 MP camera supports 3K video recording, while a six-microphone system handles immersive audio and reduces background noise for clearer calls and voice interactions. Meanwhile, Oakley Meta Vanguard users can track performance data in real time through Strava and Garmin integrations.
