Bimota KB998 Rimini Elite Revealed

Bimota has unveiled the ultra-exclusive KB998 Rimini Elite, a track-only superbike limited to just five units and built with WorldSBK-derived performance.

What is the Bimota KB998 Rimini Elite?

The Bimota KB998 Rimini Elite is a limited-production special derived from the KB998 Rimini, developed by the WSBK race team, Provec Racing. The KB998 Rimini blends Bimota chassis engineering with Kawasaki-sourced superbike performance.

What type of mechanical hardware underpins the Rimini Elite?

The Rimini Elite is built around the KB998 Rimini’s frame and engine, then upgraded with race-grade hardware from Showa, Brembo, OZ Racing, Akrapovič, Pirelli, J.Juan, Taleo and bespoke Provec Racing parts.

Despite all the goodies, Provec Racing says the KB998 Rimini Elite is 16.7 kg lighter than the regular KB998 Rimini, bringing curb weight down to 176 kg, while the standard version is listed at 192.7 kg without fuel. The Motorcycle also comes with an additional auxiliary kit, such as internal fork springs and clutch springs, allowing riders to tailor their motorcycle to different tracks and preferences.

What about the electronics package?

The KB998 Rimini Elite features an Mectronik-developed electronics package that includes 2D telemetry, track-specific software, multiple engine maps, and adjustments for traction control, ignition, and engine braking, giving riders much more flexibility to tailor their motorcycle than with a usual road-going model.

What engine does Bimota KB988 Rimini Elite use?

A familiar 998 cc liquid-cooled inline-four powers the KB998 Rimini Elite, producing about 200 hp and 111 Nm in its standard form; however, those numbers take a significant bump to 215 hp in the Elite, an increase of nearly 7.5% from the standard form.

Has the bike actually been developed on track?

Yes, Bimota says the KB998 Rimini Elite was developed by Xavi Forés, and WSBK riders Alex Lowes and Axel Bassani, and its technical package proved competitive by taking a podium with Tito Rabat at the final round of the 2025 ESBK Superbike Championship in Jerez.

How much does the Bimota KB998 Rimini Elite cost, and what additional benefits does the owner receive?

Provec Racing plans to build only 5 units worldwide; each unit is set to command a price tag of  99,800 euros. This places the Elite far above the standard KB998 Rimini, but the asking price reflects not just the machine itself, but also the exclusivity, bespoke hardware, and the factory-linked support package that comes with the ownership.

The owners of the Bimota KB998 Rimini Elite get exclusive access to the track event with the Bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team, giving customers direct contact with the people behind the project.
