Revived heritage British motorcycle maker BSA Motorcycle, led by Classic Legends, has unveiled a new 650 cc middleweight scrambler for the Indian market, as a challenger to the Royal Enfield Bear. 

What hardware does the BSA Scrambler 650 get?

The BSA scrambler 650 features a twin-cradle tubular frame paired with a twin-sided tubular steel swingarm. Suspended by 41mm telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers with 5-step preload adjustment.

The braking hardware includes a 320mm floating disc with a Brembo twin-piston floating calliper and ABS, while the rear gets a 255mm disc with a Brembo single-piston floating calliper and ABS.

What powers the new BSA Scrambler 650?

A 652 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC engine powers the BSA Scrambler 650. This engine produces 45 hp at 6,500 rpm and 55 Nm at 4,000 rpm, and it is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. This engine is the same 652cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine as the BSA Gold Star 650.

How does the BSA Scrambler 650 look, and what is its design inspiration?

The BSA Scrambler 650 takes inspiration from historic BSA scramblers such as the Gold Star Catalina, A10 Spitfire, and A65 Firebird. While the silhouette remains classic, the Scrambler 650 has been adapted to feel more contemporary by featuring LED lighting, LCD instrumentation, dual-purpose tyres, and a taller stance. 

What is the price of the BSA Scrambler 650 in India?

The BSA Scrambler 650 starts at Rs 3,24,950 ex-showroom in India and goes up to Rs 3,40,950 depending on the colour variant. The variants and their price breakdown are as follows: Rs 3,24,950 for Raven Black, Rs 3,32,950 for Victor Yellow, and Rs 3,40,950 for Thunder Grey, all ex-showroom.
