Honda Updates 2027 CBR600RR with Fireblade-Derived Upgrades

The 2027 Honda CBR600RR retains its 599cc inline-four engine producing 121hp and 63Nm, while gaining Fireblade-derived Nissin brakes, revised aerodynamics and a larger 5-inch TFT display.

Honda has updated its middleweight supersport, the CBR600RR, for the 2027 model year, introducing Fireblade-derived braking components, revised aerodynamics and a larger TFT display.

What is new on the 2027 Honda CBR600RR?

For the 2027 model year, the Honda CBR600RR receives updates to its front braking system, aerodynamic design and instrumentation.  The most significant of the updates is the adoption of Nissin four-piston radial-mount front brake callipers derived from the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade, Honda’s flagship supersport motorcycle.

Honda has also updated the ABS, introducing three selectable modes: Standard, Track and Race. At the front, the aerodynamic elements have been reshaped and integrated into the fairing beneath the headlights. The instrument display has grown from 4.2 inches to 5 inches, providing a larger screen for riding information.

The revised aerodynamic appendages now integrate separate winglets into a complete spoiler beneath the headlights. The redesigned arrangement gives the front fairing a cleaner appearance while maintaining downforce without increasing drag.

Honda has also updated the fairing, which is intended to manage airflow around the rider, particularly around the arms, while the central ram-air intake remains positioned between the headlights.

What engine does the 2027 Honda CBR600RR use?

The 2027 Honda CBR600RR continues to use a 599cc, liquid-cooled four-cylinder engine. The engine produces 121 hp at 14,250rpm and 63Nm of torque at 11,500rpm. Paired with a six-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch.

What display does the 2027 Honda CBR600RR get?

The CBR600RR now features a 5-inch colour TFT display, replacing the previous 4.2-inch unit. The larger screen provides a more prominent interface for riding data and the motorcycle’s electronic settings.

What rider assistance systems are available on the 2027 Honda CBR600RR?

The 2027 model year retains previous models’ comprehensive electronics package built around throttle-by-wire and a six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU). The system supports cornering ABS, rear-lift control, wheelie control and Honda Selectable Torque Control, which provides nine levels of adjustment.

Honda also offers three preset riding modes and two customisable User modes. These modes allow the rider to adjust engine power, engine braking, traction control and wheelie control, while the quickshifter offers its own adjustment settings.

What suspension, chassis, and brakes does the 2027 Honda CBR600RR use?

2027 Honda CBR600RR features an aluminium twin-spar frame and an aluminium swingarm. Suspension consists of a fully adjustable 41mm Showa Big Piston inverted front fork with 120mm of travel and a Pro-Link rear monoshock with 128mm of wheel travel. The motorcycle also uses a Honda Electric  Steering Damper, which adjusts damping according to the riding conditions.

The braking hardware consists of twin 310mm floating discs at the front, paired with Nissin four-piston radial-mount callipers derived from the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade. The rear uses a 220mm disc with a single-piston calliper.

Will the 2027 Honda CBR600RR get race kits?

Honda has also announced three HRC Race Kits for the 2027 CBR600RR, designed for track use. Depending on the package, it includes components such as an ECU and wiring harness, a racing exhaust, suspension components, brake discs, a larger radiator and other performance-related parts.
