Maserati Shows Off Classic and Current Vehicles at Anantara Concorso Roma 2026

The Italian automobile manufacturer has shown off classic and current models at the very first Anantara Concorso Roma car show in Rome.

Anantara Concorso Roma has been launched for the first time ever to showcase some of the best Italian cars in Rome from 16 April to 19 April, 2026. Maserati has showcased some of the most interesting models from its history and current line-up to highlight the technical achievements it has made over the decades and its product strategy.

Which Maserati vehicles were showcased at the event?

Maserati has shown some of the most interesting and classic models at the event, which include both historically important and current models. Some of the older Maseratis include the Maserati Tipo 26B, an improvement on the original Tipo 26 model; the Maserati A6GCS-53 Berlinetta Pininfarina; and the Maserati 3500 GT Convertible Vignale.

Some privately owned Maseratis were also included at the car show, including the Maserati V4 Sport Zagato, which won the Best of Show award, and other Maserati models like the Maserati Ghibli SS.

How does Maserati take care of its classic cars?

The restoration, certification, and documentation services for historic Maserati cars are available through the Maserati Classiche programme.

The classic car presented at the exhibition – the 1959 3500 GT Convertible Vignale prototype – received its Certificate of Authenticity following its restoration, completed in 2026. Such a project helps owners maintain the originality and historical accuracy of Maseratis.

Why did Maserati choose a Trident symbol for its logo?

The event marked the hundredth anniversary of the Trident symbol of Maserati. It was first presented on the Tipo 26 during the 1926 Targa Florio race. The idaea to create it came to mind after seeing the Fountain of Neptune in Bologna.

The logo soon gained popularity and came to represent Maserati as a company that excels in car racing. It had been applied to class wins at the races organised by Alfieri Maserati.

What are the technical specifications of these highlighted automobiles?

The 3500 GT Convertible Vignale model came with a 3.5-litre straight-six engine, delivering around 232 BHP, with a top speed exceeding 230 kmph. This is also considered a rare car, as only 6 units were made.

The Tipo 26B had a 2.0-litre straight-eight engine providing around 153 BHP and a top speed of 180 to 210 kmph. A lightweight material, such as a magnesium alloy, was used in the manufacturing of this vehicle.

The A6GCS-53 Berlinetta Pininfarina came with a 2.0-litre straight-six engine, producing approximately 168 BHP and a maximum speed of about 235 kmph. Only four units of this car were made.

In terms of modern vehicles, the MCPURA has a V6 engine delivering about 621 BHP, while the GT2 Stradale has an engine delivering approximately 631 BHP. The GT2 Stradale can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 2.7 seconds, with a top speed above 320 kmph.

How does the event show that Maserati is moving in which direction now?

Maserati’s attendance at the event shows a two-fold commitment to honouring traditional cars as well as developing modern cars. It shows that the company still maintains a link between the technology used earlier and that used today.

Conclusion

The first Anantara Concorso Roma featured approximately 70 cars from several collectors and brands, exhibited at locations such as Villa Borghese and the Anantara Palazzo Naiadi hotel in Rome. Maserati’s presence consisted of cars available in the museum and individuals, along with some cars currently produced.
