TAG Heuer unveils the fantastic new Monaco Evergraph

It is powered by an innovative high-frequency chronograph movement and is presented in two dial and case versions.

What is the new Monaco Evergraph?

For Watches and Wonders Geneva 2026, TAG Heuer has unveiled the Monaco Evergraph. It takes the brand’s iconic motorsport and cinema inspired square chronograph and combines it with an innovative new chronograph movement. It is presented in two versions.

What is so unique about its movement?

Developed over a period of five years with close industry partners, the Calibre TH 80-00 is an automatic movement that drives the hours, minutes, small seconds (9 o’clock counter) and chronograph functions: central chronograph and 60-minute counter (3 o’clock). TAG Heuer’s key partner in its development was Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier, who also had a role in the development of Calibres TH-81 and TH-81-01, that power the Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph and Carrera Split-Seconds Chronograph, respectively.

Image: “The compliant chronograph mechanism itself is the most revolutionary aspect of the timepiece. It removes virtually all of the levers and springs traditionally associated with the start, stop, and reset functions and bears no resemblance to the constructions that have defined the complication since its origins. In their place are two flexible bistable components: one governing start and stop, the other reset. These components have been developed and refined over five years within the TAG Heuer LAB. Produced using high-precision LIGA technology, these flexible bistable components enable fast, crisp transitions between positions. Thanks to the tuning of the chronograph mechanism and the precision of its manufacturing, there is no change or deviation over time in its performance. Whether on the first press of the pushers or the ten-thousandth, the chronograph always delivers the same sensation and accuracy.

Calibre TH 80-00 features “a one-of-a-kind compliant chronograph mechanism built with flexible components,” that “reimagines both the functionality and tactility of actuation of the chronograph complication.” Developed by the TAG Heur LAB, it also features the brand’s TH-Carbonspring oscillator, magnetic resistance and precision, a high frequency of 5 Hz or 36,000 vph and 70 hours power reserve.

What do we think?

TAG Heuer Monaco Evergraph.
Image: A revolutionary chronograph movement in a now decades old revolutionary design.

The original Monaco (reference 1133) was a revolutionary design when it was launched in 1969. Now 57 years later, this timeless design is used as a platform to debut a revolutionary new chronograph calibre. It proves that the mechanics of watchmaking can evolve and not necessarily remain stuck in the past. If you love chronographs and watch-tech, the Evergraph is for you. For the impressive technology it harbours, its price of CHF 23K is a relative bargain.
