Vietnamese carmaker Vinfast announces the completion of its new three brand line strategy. Vinfast officially unveiled two new flagship ultra-luxury models: the Lac Hong 800S and the Lac Hong 900S. These two new models will comprise VinFast’s ultra-luxury marque called Lac Hong. The new Lac Hong brand line will complement Vinfast’s other brand lines – VF and Green.
Vinfast has how many sub-brands?
Under Vinfast’s new brand structure, the new Lac Hong brand will represent the pinnacle of ultra-luxury and honour national pride. Currently the Lac Hong brand product line-up consists of the 900 LX, 900S and 800S models.The VF line will cater to the mass-market sector of passenger EVs across multiple segments, from VF 3 to VF 9, including the seven-seat VF MPV7. The Green brand is purpose-developed for commercial and service mobility solutions, featuring models such as Limo Green, Herio Green, Nerio Green and Minio Green.
What’s new in the Lac Hong 800S and 900S?
The term Lac Hong translates to the legendary origin or ancestral bloodline of the Vietnamese people. Hence, both new cars feature design cues honoring the country and its culture. For instance, the grille features straight vertical slats inspired by the resilience of Vietnamese bamboo. The wing-shaped emblem evokes the Lac bird in ascent. The exterior and interior of the car is splashed with decorative design elements derived from the Dong Son bronze drum and terraced rice fields.
Top-tier materials such as Nappa leather, rare woods and refined gold-plated accents galore inside the cabin of the Lac Hong 800S and 900S. Even the “Lac Hong” wordmark is crafted in calligraphic style and rendered in genuine gold-plated alloy. Ultra-luxury amenities such as zero-gravity executive seating, automatic power-assisted doors and premium entertainment systems are equipped in both luxury cars.
Though the Lac Hong 900S enhances exclusivity by offering a privacy partition separating the cockpit and rear cabin. Additionally, the rear passengers of the 900S enjoy a starlight headliner, a large- format projection entertainment system and foldable executive workstation for the occupants.
What kind of motor powers the Lac Hong 800S and 900S?
Both cars can be configured with a tri-motor powertrain comprising one front motor and two rear motors. The total power output can peak at 616hp (or 460 kW). Both cars also come equipped with an all-new fully active suspension system claimed to deliver ‘exceptional ride comfort and dynamic stability’.
When does the Lac Hong 800S and 900S launch?
The Lac Hong 800S and 900S are scheduled for commercial launch in 2027.
