What has Primark announced?

Primark has confirmed further expansion in the Middle East following the successful launch of its first regional store at The Avenues in Kuwait in October 2025. In partnership with Alshaya Group, the retailer will open five stores in 2026 across the UAE, Bahrain and Qatar.

Where will the new stores be located?

  • Dubai Mall – opening March 26
  • City Centre Mirdif – opening in April
  • Mall of the Emirates – opening in May
  • City Centre Bahrain – Bahrain, later in 2026
  • Doha Festival City – Qatar, later in 2026

Why does this matter?

The Kuwait flagship drew thousands of customers at its opening event, underlining strong demand for Primark’s mix of trend-led fashion and everyday essentials at unbeatable prices. The Dubai launches are expected to replicate this momentum, offering womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, home and beauty.

What did the leadership say?

Primark’s leadership sees its success in Kuwait as proof of the brand’s potential in the Middle East. The company is positioning the Dubai Mall opening as the start of a wider rollout, with five stores confirmed for 2026 and a clear ambition to reach 21 countries. Alshaya Group has emphasised pride in the partnership and described this expansion as “just the beginning,” signalling long-term intent to grow the brand across the region.

How does this fit into Primark’s global growth?

Primark now operates more than 475 stores in 18 countries. Alongside Middle East expansion, the retailer is preparing to open its first Manhattan flagship in Spring 2026, marking its 10th anniversary in the US last year.
