Content creation has been on a consistent rise and so has been the tools to aid the creators. And now, Australian audio firm RØDE announces the launch of its latest all-in-one video and audio production console – the RØDECaster Video S. Priced at US$499 (or AED 1832), the new RØDECaster Video S is aimed to make professional content creation more accessible for solo creators, video podcasters and live streamers.
What’s new in the RØDECaster Video S?
The new RØDECaster Video S builds upon the capabilities of the previous flagship RØDECaster Video by featuring the same high-performance octa-core processor. Though it now delivers the same performance but in a smaller, more desktop-friendly footprint. The new all-in-one video and audio production console now boasts three full HD (1080p) HDMI inputs and one configurable HDMI port. A USB-C input port is also present for connecting webcams and RØDE USB audio devices to boost versatility.
The new RØDECaster Video S features four dedicated video source buttons, five scene buttons and four assignable function keys to create five complex scenes with multiple layers of video, media and graphics, which can be saved and triggered at the touch of a button. It also features automatic chroma keying with a single press for effortlessly replacing backgrounds with media or live video. A 2-inch high-resolution touchscreen and versatile rotary encoder has been equipped for quick configurations of media playback, graphic overlays, keying, transitions and multi-source scene creation all accessible from the front panel. The audio-video console further comes equipped with APHEX audio processing, including an EQ, compressor, noise gate, high-pass filter, de-esser and the legendary Aural Exciter, Big Bottom and Compellor effects.
New RØDECaster Video S: For Solo Operators
Solo operators would find the new RØDECaster Video S particularly handy as it comes with intelligent auto-switching that automatically switches camera angles based on who’s speaking. The presence of an Inspect feature further allows users to preview and configure any input or scene instantly whereas the Multiview display offers complete oversight of every video source at a glance thereby minimising the risk of broadcasting errors.
For the streamers, the new RØDECaster Video S now allows direct streaming to YouTube, Twitch and other major platforms via Wi-Fi, Ethernet or USB. Alternatively, the console can record straight to an external USB drive or SSD, with the option to capture every video and audio source independently for maximum flexibility in post-production.
New RØDECaster Video S: Smartphone compatible
Smartphone compatibility is a must for content creators in 2025 and RØDE offers the same via the RØDE Capture app. Creators can utilize the front and rear cameras of their iPhones wirelessly via the RØDE Capture app for simultaneous dual-cam streaming, perfect for instances which demand multiple angles.
RØDE has thoughtfully integrated dual internal wireless receivers to the new RØDECaster Video S for seamless connection of RØDE Series IV wireless microphones.
