Wimbledon 2025: Tennis stars and their amazing Rolex watches

The Championships, Wimbledon is one of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments in the world. Commonly referred to as Wimbledon, it is held at The All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club Limited in Wimbledon, London. The Australian Open, Roland Garros (French Open), and US Open are the other three. Wimbledon was held during 30 June – 13 July 2025.

Last month, right after the French Open, we delved into the watch partnerships of few outstanding tennis players. Now we look at Rolex’s partnership with a handful of top tennis players.

Jannik Sinner (Italy) won the Gentlemen’s Singles title where he defeated Carlos Alcaraz (Spain) in 4 sets in the final: 4-6 6-4 6-4 6-4. It was Sinner’s first Wimbledon title. Alcaraz won the Gentlemen’s Singles title in 2023 and 2024, and defeated Sinner in a 5-set thriller to claim the French Open Men’s Singles title last month.

Our Thoughts

Rolex is a phenomenal watchmaker. Their ability to “mass produce” watches of such exceptional quality is unprecedented. (Perhaps across any industry in the world and not just watches.) They are also a brilliant marketing machine, with a knack for knowing which sports, specific tournaments, and athletes to partner with. In addition to tennis, they are associated with golf, yachting, motor sports, and equestrianism.

Image: Rolex and tennis are inseparable. They are the Official Timekeeper of the 4 Grand Slam tournaments, “the leading international team competitions,” the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), and the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA).

I have been a huge Roger Federer fan since the mid-2000’s. I recall an advertisement Rolex created just before the 2012 Championships where it featured him. He won that year – his 7th Wimbledon Singles title after a hiatus of 2 years. That advertisement – on both TV and (I think) Rolex’s website – literally gave me goose bumps. Just a few days ago I chanced upon the (approximately) 8-minute video on Carlos Alcaraz on the Rolex website. 14 years apart and it evoked the exact same feeling. Rolex knows how to elevate and inspire you to do something great with your life. No wonder that one of their slogans is “A Crown for Every Achievement.”

Please visit the Rolex website for more information on their partnerships with sports as well as their Perpetual Planet and Perpetual Arts Initiatives. For those who love classical music, the video on Yuja Wang – one of the greatest pianists in the world (perhaps the greatest) – is a must watch. The marketing for Rolex’s Land-Dweller collection – unveiled during Watches and Wonders Geneva 2025 – centred on Roger Federer and Yuja Wang. Two personalities from different worlds but at the very top of their respective fields.
