CEER partners with RIMAC TECHNOLOGY to provide high-performance electric drive systems

Rimac Technology CEO Mate Rimac and CEER Motors CEO James Dae Luca signed on the new partnership that aims to revolutionise the automotive industry in Saudi Arabia

Ceer, a joint venture between the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. (Foxconn), is the first electric vehicle brand in Saudi Arabia. CEER aims to partner with global industry leaders to deliver world-class, high-performance electric vehicles and revolutionise the automotive industry in Saudi Arabia. It has, therefore, partnered with Rimac Technology to supply fully integrated high-performance electric drive systems (EDS) for its upcoming flagship electric vehicle range. They announced the partnership at a signing ceremony held at Rimac in Croatia on October 17, attended by Rimac Technology CEO Mate Rimac and CEER Motors CEO James Dae Luca.

CEER is the first company and large-scale project in the GCC to partner with Rimac Technology to equip leading electric vehicles with the latest high-performance electric drive systems and solutions.

The partnership with CEER marks another evolution of Rimac Technology’s business from limited-volume, high-performance applications – including the Rimac Nevera, Pininfarina Battista, Aston Martin Valkyrie and Koenigsegg Regera – to large-scale projects. It is not Rimac Technology’s first partnership, as this year it also revealed a long-term collaboration with BMW Group to supply high-voltage battery systems for its passenger cars and has signed multiple agreements for medium- to large-volume European OEM projects.

This latest venture with Ceer, represents another major expansion of Rimac Technology’s product portfolio, focusing on electric powertrains and its software portfolio. As previously reported, the collaboration with CEER reinforces Rimac Technology’s ambitions for global electrification. Rimac Technology has announced several significant partnerships, including with BMW Group and Ceer, to produce tens of thousands of electric drivetrains and battery systems for leading OEMs worldwide. With more exciting projects in the pipeline, it has strategically invested in its production facilities in Croatia, including the Rimac complex and supporting infrastructure, which will soon be fully operational.
