Girard-Perregaux unveils a new Laureato to benefit a children’s charity

The piece unique Laureato Eternity ELA Edition will be auctioned by Christie’s to raise funds for ELA, a charity devoted to fighting leukodystrophies in children.

Girard-Perregaux has unveiled the piece unique Laureato Eternity ELA Edition, which will be auctioned by Christie’s in November 2024, to raise funds for ELA, a charity devoted to fighting leukodystrophies in children. ELA is short for European Leukodystrophy Association.

“ELA was founded in 1992 by two men in a hospital corridor, Guy Alba and Pascal Prin. Both men shared something in common; their children were suffering from leukodystrophies, a group of rare, genetic disorders that act on the central nervous system. Determined to seek new treatments through research, support affected families and heighten awareness of leukodystrophies, ELA has actively engaged with businesses and the public alike, raising vital funds. From its modest origins, ELA has funded 571 research programmes, becoming the world’s leading funder of medical research into leukodystrophies.”

The auction will be held on November 11, 2024, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Geneva. The auction will include other timepieces, also in support of ELA. The Laureato Eternity ELA Edition, along with other timepieces from the same auction, will be exhibited in several cities prior to the auction.
