The new 912hp Audi RS e-tron GT Performance is the most powerful Audi yet

It gets a new Push-to-pass function for rapid overtakes

Audi unveiled the e-tron GT all-electric sports sedan in 2020 as part of the e-tron battery electric sub-brand. That was followed by the Audi RS e-tron GT’s launch in 2021 with a 0-100kph acceleration time of 3.3 seconds, making it the fastest Audi sedan at the time of launch. And now, Audi has topped itself by launching the all-new 912hp RS e-tron GT Performance – the most powerful production vehicle from Audi yet.

The new Audi RS e-tron GT Performance adds a newly developed permanent-magnet synchronous motor on the rear axle that’s lighter and more compact. It boasts a 556hp power output, topping the existing front-axle PSM with a 337hp output. However, both electric motors have power reserves for dynamic driving situations which get utilised when activating Launch Control on the new Push-to-pass function that provides a 94hp (or 70kW) increase in output at speeds above 30 km/h for up to ten seconds. The same can be reused after allowing the car with a minimum of ten seconds of energy regeneration.

Extended use of high-performance RS mode will heat the 105kWh battery pack quicker than usual and to counter the same, Audi has tweaked its thermal management system on the RS e-tron GT Performance. Audi claims, “When increased output is used, the thermal management system switches on the AC circuit to ensure the HV battery is sufficiently cooled.” Additionally, cooling of the electric motors, interior air conditioning, and conditioning of the HV battery can now be controlled largely independently of each other.

The Audi RS e-tron GT Performance also benefits from the new adaptive air suspension that’s offered as standard. For the first time, a wheel-selective active suspension system is available as an option. “Our goal was to significantly increase the spread between driving comfort and driving dynamics and make it more noticeable,” explains Carsten Jablonowski, Lead Engineer of the Audi Driving Characteristics Development Team.

20-inch wheels with a new multi-spoke design are standard fitment on the RS e-tron GT Performance with a 21-inch set also available as an optional extra. Also standard is e-tron Sport sound though customers can now control the car’s sound to have it configured in electric-car quiet mode or a progressive sound experience proportional to the acceleration.

Prices for the RS e-tron GT performance start at 160,500 euros with a new Bedford Green exterior paint shade available exclusively to the Performance model.
