Bugatti Tourbillon showcased at the Monterey Car Week in California

August 2024 witnessed one of the automotive industry’s most revered gatherings, the Monterey Car Week, get hosted in California. Legacy French carmaker Bugatti put on an extensive show, honouring its past and showcasing its future with the former including the presence of the iconic Type 57 and pioneering EB110 models and the latter comprising the Chiron-replacement Tourbillon hypercar being displayed for the first time on American soil.

Visitors consisting of automotive enthusiasts, well-known collectors and iconic brands from all over the world got an exclusive opportunity to see the all-new Bugatti Tourbillon and its fully mechanical driver instrument cluster built with the help of Swiss watchmakers up close. More passionate enthusiasts could also gain a more detailed insight into the Tourbillon by glancing over its bare carbon monocoque and chassis model stationed right beside the production-ready hypercar.

However, in the modern world, Bugatti isn’t just about pioneering automotive engineering. Hence, Bugatti customers had the opportunity to visit Le Domaine Bugatti, located at The Lodge at Pebble Beach where a host of Bugatti-inspired lifestyle products were also exhibited. Putting watch collectors on alert, Jacob & Co introduced its range of hand-crafted Bugatti timepieces, including the newly unveiled Tourbillon watch. The mechanism for these timepieces reflects the Bugatti’s V16 engine, with sub-dials designed like the car’s dashboard and RPM counter. Bugatti claims, “Its automation mimics the V16 engine block, complete with exhaust manifolds, and the winding crown echoes the finish on the Tourbillon’s control buttons.”

Other notable products included the Champagne Carbon-made Tourbillon 15-litre bottle inspired by the hypercar and its elegant shade of blue and the Baby Bugatti II by Hedley Studios. Renowned British jewellery designer Asprey showcased some of its famous Bugatti sculpture masterpieces including a lone piece from the precious Bugatti Egg Collection and a sculpted scale model of Bugatti Residences by Binghatti model – the brand’s first luxury living development being erected in Dubai.
