Updated My BMW app assesses the feasibility of EV ownership by tracking your driving patterns

If you could never comprehend the logic behind buying an electric car for personal use, BMW offers a tangible reasoning for the same. BMW declares its decision to update its My BMW and MINI apps with many customer-oriented functions including a new Electric Vehicle Analysis function. This new Electric Vehicle Analysis function within the My BMW and MINI apps will carry out simulations based on the real-world driving data of your current combustion engine vehicle to analyse and then report “how well an all-electric BMW would suit their personal driving profile”. To commence the analysis, users select an electric BMW model as an alternative vehicle in the app, post which the app requires to record at least 200 journeys or a 2,000 km distance coverage by the customer’s current ICE car. The new feature’s analysis sums up “the number of journeys that could have been completed with the selected electric vehicle on a single charge” to combat the perceptions around range anxiety and the practical use of EVs on daily usage.
