Kia India Hits 1 Million Sales Milestone

The company’s focus on customer-centricity, coupled with its commitment to cutting-edge technology, positions it as a major player in the Indian automotive market.

Kia India has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing the 1 million unit sales mark in the domestic market within just 59 months of its inception. This remarkable feat positions Kia as one of the fastest-growing premium carmakers in India.

The Kia Seltos has been the driving force behind the company’s success, contributing to over 48% of total sales. The Sonet and Carens models have also played crucial roles, collectively accounting for 50% of the sales figure. Kia’s ability to offer a range of aspirational products with advanced features has disrupted the Indian automotive market, challenging established players and attracting a younger demographic.

The company’s focus on premium offerings is evident in the fact that 42% of its sales come from top trim levels, defying the perception of India as a price-sensitive market. Kia has also been instrumental in driving the adoption of automatic transmissions, with 32% of its sales comprising automatic variants. The introduction of the Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT) has further expanded its transmission options.

Commenting on the achievement, Mr Joonsu Cho, Chief Sales Officer of Kia India, expressed gratitude to customers for their trust and confidence in the brand. He emphasized Kia’s commitment to innovation and its role in driving the growth of the Indian automotive industry.

With a strong foundation and a pipeline of exciting new models, Kia India is poised for continued success. The company’s focus on customer-centricity, coupled with its commitment to cutting-edge technology, positions it as a major player in the Indian automotive market.

As Kia India celebrates this milestone, it also looks forward to expanding its footprint and strengthening its position as a preferred choice for Indian car buyers.
