Two GM Pick-Ups Ready To Mingle With The Middle East

Both model updates for 2022, one’s called the Chevrolet Silverado, and the other is the GMC Sierra.

It isn’t a secret that General Motors is one of the biggest names in the automotive world. Under its umbrella are multiple brands, including Chevrolet and GMC. Both of them produce some of the most sought-after vehicles, but their most popular offerings are the Silverado (Chevrolet) and the Sierra (GMC). The two pick-ups have been updated for 2022, and before they go on sale in the Middle East, General Motors took them out on the sand dunes to further improve their capabilities. Clearly, the automotive giant wants no stone unturned for a region with varied requirements.

The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado range will have a new top-tier variant called ZR2, and that alphanumerical badge means the factory-lifted vehicle will offer “race-proven” off-road performance. It has electrically-locking differentials, increased approach angles, skid plates and Multimatic DSSV dampers, payload and towing capacity. The pick-up has been tested rigorously, from the sand dunes and tracks in Michigan to the rock crawl trails in Utah, and the Tennessee mountains to the deserts in Arizona and California. After all that, it was put through the Iftar Bowl in Dubai and other desert terrains of the UAE.

The other offering is the 2022 GMC Sierra. Like the Silverado, the Sierra also has a new range-topper – the Denali Ultimate. Besides boasting unique design cues on the outside and exclusive trim finishes inside, the top-tier Sierra also offers better standard equipment. Part of that list is a CarbonPro composite cargo box. Also, it will launch with built-in Google, offering a voice assistant, embedded navigation and multiple other applications for a more connected experience. And for that extra bit, the system can communicate in Arabic.

General Motors says that once the two pick-ups are thoroughly tried and tested, they will be introduced in the Middle East. Expect that to happen in July 2022.
