The Opel Rocks-e becomes the world’s smallest fire truck

Suitable for small factory interventions

When you think of fire trucks, you immediately imagine huge vehicles with flashing lights, blaring sirens and shiny chrome. At Opel’s Rüsselheim plant in Germany, they’re in a more modest mood and have thought smaller, much smaller.

A Vivaro perhaps? No. A Corsa then? Not even close! It’ s the tiny Opel Rocks-e that will join the ranks of the factory’s fire brigade. Thanks to its small dimensions, the Opel Rocks-e will help the fire brigade to move more quickly through the different buildings.

Based on the Citroën Ami, the Rocks-e logically has the same ID card. Its Lilliputian size (2.41 m long and 1.39 m wide) makes it extremely maneuverable, allowing it to get anywhere. Its small 8 hp electric motor and 5.5 kWh battery give it a range of 75 km, which is more than enough.

The fire brigade itself made the modifications. This unique Rocks-e is painted in a bright red with a few yellow accents. The vehicle also gains the traditional beacons and a control panel in the cabin. Of course, there is no fire hose or ladder – they would be bigger than the car itself anyway!
