Volkswagen keeps the Golf R 333 Limited Edition confined to Germany

It gets a new Lime Yellow Metallic exterior paint and Akrapovič exhausts

Special editions are all the rage right now, and German carmaker Volkswagen wants a piece of that pie as it launches the exclusive Golf R 333 Limited Edition with, you guessed it right, 333PS or 328hp power output. Besides a mere 13hp bump from the standard Golf R, Volkswagen claims the Golf R 333 Limited Edition boasts a host of other special features that could make a potential collector’s item.

Highlight performance upgrades include an R Performance package, a titanium exhaust system from Akrapovič, an increased top speed of 270kph and a preloaded turbocharger setup to keep turbo lag at bay. Volkswagen claims the Golf R 333 Limited Edition’s 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of 4.6 seconds delivers the best-in-class value when compared against key competitors. Limited to 333 units, the Golf R 333 can only be ordered in German dealerships from Friday, 2 June.

The introduction of Lime Yellow Metallic exterior paint, a black-painted roof, and design decals with the 333 side decals ensures the Golf R 333 stands out from its standard offering. “It is the first Volkswagen R model with a strict limitation to 333 units and with a sequentially numbered badge in the interior,” said Hakim Halimi, Head of Product Marketing at Volkswagen R. Added standard offering comprises premium sport seats in Nappa leather and IQ. light LED matrix headlights.

Prices start at 76,410 euros, and Volkswagen has a special customer event planned for all buyers who pick up their vehicle in Wolfsburg (Germany) in October.
