Jeep India Launches Two Special Meridian Variants

One is called the Meridian X, and the other is Meridian Upland.

Are you in the market to buy a three-row SUV for around INR 40 lakh? The Jeep Meridian, then, must be one of the options. Jeep India has devised two special editions to lure more customers towards the said seven-seater. One is called the Meridian X, and the other is Meridian Upland. Although primarily similar, both carry their own feel.

The Meridian X is aimed at buyers who want a lifestyle SUV for their social and personal circles. Hence, it features body-coloured lowers, a grey roof, alloy wheels with grey pockets, side mouldings, puddle lamps and ambient lighting.

On the other hand, the Meridian Upland will lure the outdoorsy kind. Especially people who like to break away from the hustle-bustle of cities and explore different terrains. And the highlights include a roof carrier with side steps, splash guards, a boot organiser, sunshades, cargo mats, a tyre inflator and a unique bonnet decal.

Both these versions of the Jeep Meridian are available in two additional colours – Silvery Mood and Galaxy Blue. Features such as a panoramic sunroof and the Uconnect 5 connected-car tech are also available. Also, their buyers can opt for a Wi-Fi-enabled 11.6-inch display for the rear seat passengers at 50 per cent of the selling price. And the recently-introduced ‘Jeep Wave Exclusive’ program is part of the package as well.

Under the bonnet is a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine coupled with a 9-speed automatic transmission and Jeep’s Selec-Terrain 4×4 system. With 170hp/350Nm on tap, the Jeep Meridian can hit 100kmph from a standstill in 10.8 seconds and clock 198kmph flat out.

Jeep India confirms the booking counters for the Meridian X and the Meridian Upland are open, while deliveries will commence immediately. The new derivatives should help the American brand to lure customers away from rival models – the Toyota Fortuner and the MG Gloster.
