The Asprey Bugatti Egg Collection is the most expensive NFT inscribed on a Bitcoin blockchain

Before becoming a hypercar pioneer, the Bugatti name was associated with luxury goods. Carlo Bugatti, the father of Ettore Bugatti, specialised in designing and manufacturing Art Nouveau furniture and once said, “The purest perfect shape of nature is the egg.” With this statement as inspiration, Aspery and Bugatti came together to develop the Asprey Bugatti Egg Collection. This will be built as a physical “objet” and generative artwork with 111 physical eggs getting linked to Bitcoin NFTs. The eggshell is carved from carbon fibre and overlaid by silver diamond weaving, which houses the iconic “dancing elephant” motif in the middle. The shell opens to reveal the Chateau Saint Jean — Bugatti’s home in Molsheim, accompanied by a Bugatti Type 41 Royale Esders stylised in silver. The art gets coded by Asprey’s strategic partner, Metagood, with prices upwards of $200,000. The artwork is said to last indefinitely as it utilises a technique of inscribing digital content on the Bitcoin blockchain. The launch of the NFT collection will coincide with the opening of Asprey Studio Gallery at the end of April 2023 with physical delivery requiring over 12 months.
