The Kia Stinger’s career comes to an end with the Tribute Edition

Filled to the brim with the 3.3-litre V6 as a farewell

Launched in 2017 in an attempt to break into the premium segment, the Kia Stinger has not met with the expected success in the face of more established competition. The restyling in 2020 went unnoticed and did not boost sales of the sports sedan. The Stinger is therefore preparing to bid farewell in all markets where it is sold with the Tribute Edition limited series.

This limited edition of 1,000 units is based on the sporty top-of-the-range GT trim. The exterior features 19-inch gloss black wheels with Brembo brake calipers. The choice of colours is limited to Moonscape Grey matt and Ascot Green metallic paint. The interior is finished in Terracotta Brown leather on the sports seats and the door panels.

There are also carbon inserts on the centre console and on the top of the doors. The GT sports steering wheel has a flattened lower section with chrome accents. The headrests of the seats are flanked by a wasp logo in reference to the model’s name. The rest is the Stinger GT’s over-equipped interior with a 10.25-inch infotainment screen and a host of features.

Under the bonnet, the Stinger Tribute Edition has the best of the best. It’s the Stinger GT’s engine, a 3.3-litre V6 with 373 PS and 510 Nm of torque. It is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. Kia has not revealed a release date, nor has it announced a price, which is expected to be high.
