Bookings Open For Fisker Ocean One

You can also tag it as the ‘Launch Edition’.

Confused? Well, so was I. But then I paid close attention and managed to get my head around this development. Yes, bookings for the Fisker Ocean have been open for months now. The counter had surpassed the 50,000-mark a couple of weeks ago. That’s incredible for something that’s yet to enter production. And that number comprises reservations of the EV’s three variants – Sport, Ultra and Extreme.

Now, however, there’s a fourth version – the One. Unlike the other iterations, the One will have a limited run. Just 5,000 examples are up for grabs. And that’s worldwide, not just in the USA. Pricing? Well, the starting price is a dollar shy of USD 69,000. Now, that’s the same as for the Extreme variant. But the One is more like a ‘Launch Edition’, which will offer exclusive bits and pieces inside-out.

Here’s what the booking portal says about the Fisker Ocean One: “The exclusive, launch edition – fully loaded with all available premium features”. Such as? The customer can choose between two 22-inch alloys – F3 Slipstream and F5 AirGlider – both in black or silver. Then, there’s an ‘Ocean One’ badge on the steering wheel. If that won’t remind you of the “uniqueness”, the digital Ocean One signature on the control screen will. Lastly, there’s the quirky-looking and sounding MaliBlu interior, which comprises recycled stuff.

The rest of the package is as-is on the Ocean Extreme derivative. So, the dual-motor powertrain, the features and the 563km range (according to EPA standards) will be the same.

Here’s something you need to know before booking the One. Each specimen will be numbered from #1 to #5,000. The vehicles will be assigned to their allottees after being selected for production. Besides that, Fisker will soon be extending invitations to early reservation holders in select markets. The list includes the USA, Austria, Canada, Norway, the UK, Denmark, France, Germany and Sweden.
