‘Renault Experience Days’ Campaign Launched In India

What if a carmaker brings its showroom to your doorstep? Or a workshop? Wouldn’t that be something different and fantastic at the same time? Well, Renault India has launched such a campaign. Called ‘Renault Experience Days’, it will run mobile showrooms and workshops covering 625 locations across 26 states and three union territories in the country. The “Showroom on Wheels” will help potential customers learn about Renault models and get on-the-spot test drives, booking and car finance options. On the other hand, Renault India’s “Workshop on Wheels” will be equipped to offer maintenance and servicing of cars at the doorstep of existing customers.

Beechcraft Denali Makes Public Debut In Wisconsin

Textron Aviation presented its new single-engine turboprop – the Beechcraft Denali – at the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. This was the first time the public saw the aircraft, which is currently under development, in the flesh. And those planning to attend the event can view the aeroplane in question at booth number 78 until Sunday, July 30, 2023. Earlier this year, Textron Aviation confirmed the Beechcraft Denali will be equipped with the Garmin Emergency Autoland system by default.

The plane is powered by a GE Catalyst engine, which produces 1,300shp, enough to achieve cruise speeds of 285 knots. With one pilot and four passengers, the Beechcraft Denali can travel up to 1,600 nautical miles. That means it can fly from Los Angeles to Chicago, New York to Miami or London to Athens without refilling. And it can also use sustainable aviation fuel.

India’s Spirit Air Inks LOI With Britten-Norman

To further strengthen its fleet, India-based Spirit Air has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with UK aircraft manufacturer Britten-Norman. It is for purchasing six brand-new BN2T-4S Islander planes powered by twin Rolls-Royce (Allison) Model 250 turboprop engines. With a total output of 400shp, the aircraft has a 22 per cent increase in disposable payload. The aeroplane in question also benefits from an extra row of seats over the standard piston Islander variant.

The BN2T-4S Islander is the largest derivative of the range and comes equipped with the latest Garmin avionics, including PFD (Primary Flight Display), MFD (Multi-function Display) and electronic engine instrumentation. While the new aircraft are being built, Spirit Air will initially take delivery of four refurbished units of the same plane to start its expansion in operations.

Three MG EVs Debut At Goodwood

At this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, MG Motor garnered much attention by unveiling three performance-oriented EVs for the first time – EX4 Concept, Cyberster Roadster and MG4 EV Xpower. The latter two also participated in the famous hillclimb event. Where the two-seater convertible echos back to MG’s heritage, the MG4 Xpower put on a good show with its dual-motor outputting 435hp/600Nm. The EX4 Concept vehicle reimagines an MG from the history books – the Metro 6R4 rally car from the 1980s. It donned a distinctive livery to celebrate the 40th anniversary of MG’s aforementioned rally icon.

400 New Air India Aeroplanes To Have These Engines

Air India, part of the Tata Group, and CFM International, a JV between GE Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines, have finalised the order for 800 LEAP engines that will power the Indian carrier’s new fleet of 210 Airbus A320/321neos and 190 Boeing 737 Max family aeroplanes. The duo have also inked a multi-year services contract covering the airline’s fleet of LEAP engines. Details about this deal were first announced in February 2023. Currently, Air India has 27 A320neo aircraft in its fleet powered by LEAP-1A engines.
