ZENITH introduces the new DEFY Skyline Skeleton White Ceramic

It is the first DEFY Skyline timepiece in white ceramic. It features a blue open dial and a skeleton movement, the high-frequency El Primero 3620 SK.

“A modern successor to the very first ZENITH DEFY wristwatch model from 1969, the DEFY Skyline seamlessly merges the past and present with bold architectural lines and unwavering robustness that are the hallmarks of the line. With this new edition, the DEFY Skyline Skeleton combines the symmetrical, open movement and dial with a pristine white ceramic exterior – a first for the DEFY Skyline collection.”

ZENITH has introduced the DEFY Skyline Skeleton White Ceramic. It is the first DEFY Skyline timepiece to feature a ceramic exterior. It has a blue open dial highlighting the El Primero 3620 SK automatic high-frequency skeleton movement. The contrast of its white ceramic exterior and blue open dial makes it a perfect summer timepiece.

– Its hours, minutes and 1/10th of a second hand are rhodium-plated, faceted, and coated with SuperLuminova® SLN C1.

The ZENITH DEFY Skyline Skeleton White Ceramic’s case and bracelet features include:

– The bracelet can be interchanged for the rubber strap easily, as the case features an innovative strap-change mechanism which does not require any tools to operate.

Our Thoughts

The ZENITH DEFY Skyline Skeleton White Ceramic is a bold timepiece, made so by its white ceramic exterior and blue open dial. It is powered by a version of the El Primero, one of the most revolutionary chronograph movements since 1969. Though this timepiece is not a chronograph per se, it features a running 1/10th of a second indicator. Its interchangeable bracelet allows for a degree of versatility. While a rubber strap is provided, I am sure aftermarket straps are available, allowing for contrast with its white ceramic case and blue open dial. This would be useful in other seasons and winter months, when both its white ceramic bracelet and white rubber strap might appear too bright.

The ZENITH DEFY Skyline Skeleton White Ceramic is relatively accessible, given its choice of ceramic and pedigree of its haute horology El Primero movement. It is a ‘lot of watch for the money.’ It is a fast-faced timepiece, for someone constantly on the move.
