After introducing Vista to its single-aisle aircraft fleet a few weeks ago, Air India is back with another convenience feature that no other Indian airline offers. The carrier has become the first in the country to roll out Wi-Fi internet connectivity services aboard domestic and international flights operated using the Airbus A350, Boeing 787-9 and select A321neo jets.
The Wi-Fi service is complimentary for a limited period. Passengers can connect to the Air India Wi-Fi network by following the same steps as they would when joining a coffee shop or shopping mall network. The browser will ask for the traveller’s last name and PNR to log in. The service can be accessed on a laptop, tablet, or smartphone (Android and iOS).
Once connected, one can browse the internet, access social media, get some work done or text via messaging applications.
