Chrysler 300S Reintroduced In The UAE

Al-Futtaim Trading Enterprises, the official dealer partner for Chrysler in the UAE, has confirmed the reintroduction of the 300S with prices starting at AED 159,900. The new derivative, which sits above the Touring variant, packs a 3.6-litre V6 engine that produces 300hp/358Nm. An 8-speed automatic transmission harnesses that oomph and feeds it to the rear wheels.

Some of the features that are part of the Chrysler 300S’ standard kit include 20-inch black alloy wheels, LED headlamps with DRLs, leather seats, an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Uconnect and support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a 9-speaker Alpine sound system.

By default, the Chrysler 300S will come with a 5-year warranty and a 5-year roadside assistance membership. Those interested can check out the car at Chrysler showrooms in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

Wizz Air Orders 75 Airbus Jets

Budapest-based ultra-low-cost airline Wizz Air has inked a “firm contract” for an additional 75 A321neo family aircraft with Airbus. That takes the order for the largest single-aisle Airbus jet to 434. However, the overall order count goes up to 565 aeroplanes, including units of the A320 family. Wizz Air, which was incorporated 19 years ago and is one of the fastest-growing carriers in Europe, presently has more than 180 aircraft in its fleet. All are Airbus.

Wisk Aero Wows Public At EAA AirVenture

Wisk Aero, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Boeing, had a fantastic treat for visitors at the ongoing EAA AirVenture. It staged a public demonstration flight of a fully autonomous, electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) fixed-wing air taxi. Never before had an air mobility brand conducted such a show for the general public. The stint also marked the company’s first public demonstration of its fifth-gen autonomous eVTOL technology demonstrator – Cora.

During the flight, the air taxi transitioned from hover to wing-borne flight four times. Besides that, it performed multiple other manoeuvres, including hover and 360-degree turn in place. You can check out the video here

Daher Delivers 80th TBM 960 Plane

French aircraft manufacturer Daher has confirmed the delivery of its 80th TBM 960 turboprop plane. It was delivered to a private owner. Launched in April last year, the range-topping derivative hit the 80-delivery mark in less than 16 months. And to celebrate the occasion, Daher’s TBM 960 demonstrator aircraft is on display at the company’s exhibit booth (#387-392) at the ongoing EAA AirVenture event in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The unit has the brand’s “Sirocco” paint scheme, which includes black mask highlighting around the cockpit windows.

The TBM 960 is the fifth generation of Daher’s TBM 900-series aircraft family. To date, 488 units of the TBM 900, TBM 910, TBM 930, TBM 940 and TBM 960 have been delivered to their takers. In comparison, the two previous-generation aeroplane families – TBM 700s and TBM 850s – garnered 324 and 338 delivery counts, respectively.

Diamond Aircraft’s Electric Plane Makes Maiden Flight

Austria-headquartered Diamond Aircraft has confirmed that it successfully flight-tested its all-electric eDA40 aircraft earlier this month. Piloted by the company’s Head of Flight Test, Sören Pedersen, the maiden flight covered everything from system checks and all basic manoeuvres to the initial performance evaluation. According to the brand, all went as scheduled. The electric aeroplane’s first flight also pushes its case forward for certification.

Diamond Aircraft claims the eDA40 will become the first EASA/FAA Part 23-certified electric aircraft. Besides boasting an electric circuit trainer and an electric motor, the plane has a battery supporting DC fast charging. The aeroplane in question is scheduled to make a public appearance at AERO Friedrichshafen 2024.

Main Mitsubishi Showroom In Deira Opens With A New Look

Mitsubishi and its authorised dealer partner for the UAE Al Habtoor Motors inaugurated a freshly redone outlet at Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai, earlier this year. After receiving a similar revamp, the carmaker’s oldest showroom in the country has opened. The outlet in question, also considered the flagship touchpoint, is in Deira. It aligns with Mitsubishi Motors Corporation’s (MMC) Dealer Visual Identity Program and spans just shy of 12,600 sq. ft.

The showroom is spread over two floors, with the ground floor connected to the head office. An 11-member sales team handles the day-to-day business. At the same time, the location gives easy access to people residing in Sharjah and Dubai. Besides boasting a dedicated display area for cars, where one spot is reserved for the “hero car”, the showroom also has separate sections for Genuine Parts and accessories. The services provided include vehicle finance, insurance and an on-site RTA department for immediate registration.

Shein Launches Menswear Range With Saudi Influencer

The Singapore-headquartered fashion brand Shein has introduced an exclusive menswear range in the Middle East. The collection has been created in collaboration with Saudi influencer – Hattan. Hence, Shein X Hattan. The selection of apparel is bucketed under three categories – Smart Casual, Leisure Vacation and Sport Casual.

The first one – Smart Casual – is tailored to young men between 19-26 years, focused primarily on fabric, fit and function. The collection combines black, white and grey Morandi colours and earthy shades here. The second category – Leisure Vacation – includes floral shirts, summer t-shirts, shorts and casual footwear. And the third one – Sport Casual – justifies the name through apparel in classic check jacquard, neat silhouettes and shiny texture.

The Shein X Hattan collection will be available online in the Middle East from July 27, 2023.

‘Renault Experience Days’ Campaign Launched In India

What if a carmaker brings its showroom to your doorstep? Or a workshop? Wouldn’t that be something different and fantastic at the same time? Well, Renault India has launched such a campaign. Called ‘Renault Experience Days’, it will run mobile showrooms and workshops covering 625 locations across 26 states and three union territories in the country. The “Showroom on Wheels” will help potential customers learn about Renault models and get on-the-spot test drives, booking and car finance options. On the other hand, Renault India’s “Workshop on Wheels” will be equipped to offer maintenance and servicing of cars at the doorstep of existing customers.

Beechcraft Denali Makes Public Debut In Wisconsin

Textron Aviation presented its new single-engine turboprop – the Beechcraft Denali – at the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. This was the first time the public saw the aircraft, which is currently under development, in the flesh. And those planning to attend the event can view the aeroplane in question at booth number 78 until Sunday, July 30, 2023. Earlier this year, Textron Aviation confirmed the Beechcraft Denali will be equipped with the Garmin Emergency Autoland system by default.

The plane is powered by a GE Catalyst engine, which produces 1,300shp, enough to achieve cruise speeds of 285 knots. With one pilot and four passengers, the Beechcraft Denali can travel up to 1,600 nautical miles. That means it can fly from Los Angeles to Chicago, New York to Miami or London to Athens without refilling. And it can also use sustainable aviation fuel.

India’s Spirit Air Inks LOI With Britten-Norman

To further strengthen its fleet, India-based Spirit Air has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with UK aircraft manufacturer Britten-Norman. It is for purchasing six brand-new BN2T-4S Islander planes powered by twin Rolls-Royce (Allison) Model 250 turboprop engines. With a total output of 400shp, the aircraft has a 22 per cent increase in disposable payload. The aeroplane in question also benefits from an extra row of seats over the standard piston Islander variant.

The BN2T-4S Islander is the largest derivative of the range and comes equipped with the latest Garmin avionics, including PFD (Primary Flight Display), MFD (Multi-function Display) and electronic engine instrumentation. While the new aircraft are being built, Spirit Air will initially take delivery of four refurbished units of the same plane to start its expansion in operations.
