This One-Off BMW XM G-Power Pushes Out 950hp & 1,400Nm

BMW M doesn’t do standalone models often. It has only ever done it twice: once in 1978 with the iconic M1, and again in 2022 with the radically styled, plug-in hybrid XM. The XM Label Red already delivers staggering figures —748hp and 1,000Nm from its 4.4-litre S68 twin-turbo V8 paired with an electric motor. But for G-Power, that’s just the starting point.

With over four decades of experience extracting insane levels of performance from BMW M cars (here’s another example), G-Power has now unleashed a one-off version of the XM that pushes the hybrid system to 950hp and 1,400Nm. This makes it one of the most powerful BMW-based builds ever made, and certainly the wildest SUV on four wheels.

The One-Off 950hp Practical Track Monster

At the heart of the transformation is software-level tuning of the factory ECU, where G-Power has meticulously adjusted parameters such as ignition timing, boost pressure, and power delivery strategies. This isn’t a piggyback solution but a deep calibration of the XM’s native control systems.

Complementing this is a set of G-Power sports downpipes equipped with 200-cell Euro 6-compliant catalytic converters, improving exhaust flow while staying road-legal in emission-regulated markets.

The result? A 200hp and 400Nm leap over stock. The electronically governed top speed — normally capped at 270km/h with the optional M Driver’s Package — has been raised to 300km/h, pushing the aerodynamics and chassis of the XM to their limits.

Performance Packages for the Public

While this 950hp XM is a bespoke creation, G-Power also offers two potent upgrade packages for the XM and XM Label Red variants. Buyers can choose from:

  • Stage 1: 850hp / 1,100Nm
  • Stage 2: 900hp / 1,150Nm

A third, even more powerful configuration is already in development. It will incorporate the full G-Power Deeptone exhaust system and is expected to breach the 1,000 hp mark, solidifying the XM’s place in the hyper-SUV territory.

These packages are also compatible with the latest M5 (G90 sedan and G99 Touring), making G-Power’s expertise accessible to a broader base of BMW’s flagship performance clientele.

Track-Inspired Design & Bespoke Details

This performance monster doesn’t just go fast, it looks the part too. G-Power has equipped this exclusive XM with ultra-light 23-inch Hurricane RR forged wheels, finished in jet black with Diamond Cut V1 detailing on the lips and outer spokes. Michelin tires — 285/25ZR23 at the front and 325/30ZR23 at the rear — provide the much-needed grip to handle this thrust.

Contrasting the signature G-Power orange paint are various blacked-out accents, and customers can optionally spec a carbon fibre exterior kit and a fully reupholstered G-Power interior to match the SUV’s aggressive performance persona.

BMW may have created the XM to make a bold statement, but G-Power has turned it into a full-blown manifesto. With 950 hp, space-age tuning, and hypercar-level numbers, this one-off XM is a rolling demonstration of G-Power’s obsession with performance. And with more packages coming soon, the G-Power XM story is far from over.
